Woof! Cool one. Is the 'clanking' (sorry can't find a better wor d in English) sound in the beginning synthesized or a mangled sample?
And the final part is just great, with that Eastern European folk feel to it

its all samples of a speak n math, basically just testing out the functions on the sp404 while going through the manual
(im actually rafm!)
i wouldnt have actually posted it other than when listening back on loop i started to hear voices and phrases in the mangling, things i know the speak n math would never say as theyre not sums or problems. i then changed monitors for hifi speakers and heard different things, on headphones i hear other different things, as it seems different speakers are altering the mix i just wondered if others would hear anything, or whether i just spent too long with it and ive mashed my head
although th ending sounds the same on all speakers, phrase wise, it sounds a little angrier on the hifi speakers

So it's the fabled sp404!
I could definitely hear some sort of speak too, and I even thought that was in some Slavonic language
Probably beacuse the final part DOES sound rhythmically like a Russian or Ukrainian folk song, really archaic one, not the stuff they usually sell on "tourist" CDs
Something like this
or this
ok, there's modern "rock" renditions but the vocal style is kept, so you can get what I mean

well id like to say that was the sound i was going for, but id be lying
but yeah i do enjoy the more "music for the sake of music" rhythms that kind of stuff has, more tribal fury than virtuoso (although they usually are virtuoso players too, bastards
)
particularly enjoyed the first video, lovely blonde blew me a kiss right at the start

This is compelling.
Didn't remind me of anything in particular, but the thread subtitle nailed it.
I would really like to remix this.

only thing is i no longer have the unadulterated samples, i can give you the better quality audio of the above but either way youd be cutting from the track. but still either way id enjoy hearing this made into something a little more coherent

Hardcore!
How you finding the sound on the SP-404, Vurt? I have the SP505, and find that it's data compression can sometimes alter the audio in a bad way. Although it imports WAV files via SM cards, it reduces the file size, and you then can't export them as wavs. Having said that, it's still a cool bit of kit, and the FX are great.
