I myself am trying to make more normal-people music. Scale baaaack the sound design chicanery, uneven meters... some people try hard to add all the "extra spice" whereas I can barely bring myself to make, say, a beat, a cadence, a melody, a solo. Woops, see there's already a solo.

I should have started in pop or rock instead of avant jazz lol.

It pisses me off though that so many of these projects I start end up as-is due to PC errors, and I'm by no means a newbie with such things. I love to make up stuff on-the-fly while experimenting, but only when I plan ahead for some relatively mundane arrangement that I can make squiggle live and therefore be stable and reliable do I not eventually find some software glitch that ends the process.

I really like this one. If I were a real synesthete(sp?), listening to this one would be a really colorful experience. Really, I admire your work for the vast variety of timbres!
The brass-part is espacially awesome :)

btw; How is the development of your effects going? Espacially the dlm-ified version of Combover? (not that I want to badger you.. it is just that I love combfilters :D )

We're in abeyance atm. I've been really busy but did actually work on a VST for blortblort which isn't done yet. I'll let you know.

Oddly the time limit was 1:00 which I'd forgotten, so I cut it, then re-uncut it, added a new ending and it magically came out at 2:00.

Strangely groovy or groovily strange, maybe both?

I didn't need my usual 3 or 4 listens to get my head round this until it all made (some kind of) sense

Now I'm either getting used to how you write your tracks or this one slightly more traditional in its composition.

Anyway I love the breakdown and especially love the horn work in the second half (I promise not to mention Mariachis this time

)

And filezilla is fired up awaiting to send em on to you.
Course, I'll send you physical CDs anytime, too, though I have to remember to pick up some lightscribe discs sometime here.

I still live the mariacchi comment. Interesting that miles'tone + my vst = fanfaronade.

Crap I'm tired. Soon you'll hear a couple of fairly traditional arrangements and smirk at my unrelenting attempts to melt sound

Thinking about it, don't worry about the physical cds.

I've never really thought of your music as attempts to melt sound but it does kinda fit in a solid to liquid physical change of state way.

Like a mad audio scientist working away in his lab trying to perfect his unique new form of music. So far though I'm unable to tell if its for the good of mankind so that identikit pop shall never darken our doorsteps again or whether it is to totally subvert popular culture and have all humankind worship cast down their false idols (Beethoven, The Beatles, Justin Timberlake) and worship you instead.

I'll look forward to your traditional arrangements, I'll imagine they will be quite interesting

A burnout dude I know described my music as "the sound of things melting" so I can't take credit for it. Certainly it's intent is anti-nominalist.

I don't know what the word "identikit" is but it sounds damn nice. Gonna have to make a song called that, once I look it up.

I'm not a big fan of golden calves but that's a list 2 of guys who embraced the difficult but rewarding new audio technologies available to them. Oh, and one lady-man whose producers do. Hehe.

I'm not even comfortable with acceptance let alone worship. I guarantee that whatever I do that's appreciated I can turn around and kick it back onto the uncomfortable bleeding edge.

Then again I'm writing pop nowadays, we'll see how that turns out, eh?

I agree with thecontrolcentre, it was over all to soon for me, I think there was plenty of space for it to evolve even more.
For some reason (and I'm not just talking about the fast tempo) it makes me think of music that was performed and recorded at a lower speed, but is intended to me played back/listened to at a higher one.
I don't even remember if something like that really exists, you may have just reminded me of something from a dream.

I dig that Trumpet, I'm surprised at how much I like it, as I usually loath imitation-brass. Those Miles'Tone folks must really know their shit.
