calex wrote:I think you'd find that the idea that posts to the GB thread being the basis of the GB joining is not reality. Most of the GB participation comes from having the GB advertised by being in the active forum list. Couple that with all the posting in OTHER forums all over the web. After that, it's just price and product.
Thus you demonstrate the difference between someone who claims to be a marketing analyst (you) and someone who actually is (me).

These sales are a very well-executed combination of word-of-mouth and viral marketing. I don't want to guess how many hours Squids and Co. spend on managing these things, but at least they don't have to spend a dime on production and media placement (one more reason they can make these deals).

We spin out and drop the virus everywhere people might be interested in talking about it, simultaneously hoping the deal will be forwarded to others and drawing people back to this main thread, pages long, with group members sharing product insights and advantages that newbies may be unaware of. The net result convinces people who might not otherwise take a chance to join. I can tell you from personal experience that is how it worked with me.

The fact that I have had to explain these things to you as if you were a child should be meaningful to you, especially since this is an area you claim to have some expertise in. This time, instead of jumping back with some ad-hoc defense, why not just think about what we are telling you?

P.S. This is really my last post on this. No, really. :)

It's bordering on some form of paranoia at this point. He thinks you all work for the company in disguise or something... seriously! It's bad enough I am having to take my time away from my work to "police" and "babysit". I don't appreciate the disturbance one bit. The rest of my company actually work on SOUNDS and WEB SITES and CUSTOMER SERVICE, SALES, MARKETING, ACCOUNTING... Allen is the only other person officially from the company who is even allowed to post in here besides me. Anyone else like Kim (esoundz) at least has their association upfront, no disguise. So, what's happening here is that someone IS in fact pissing off ACTUAL esoundz customers... and we can't have that obviously.

Squids, on a positive note...any new GBs coming up soon??

We were going to do one on SampleTron and SampleMoog this month but I canceled it because I don't have the time to police it honestly. I'm traveling all around England with Ken Scott for his book... interviewing all sorts of interesting people about classic album sessions from the 60's and 70's. A lot of FUN but a ton of work.

Oh but there is some good news anyway. If you buy SampleMoog or SampleTron from www.esoundz.com you get the other FREE. Also, if you buy AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix or AmpliTube Metal you get the other free as well. Woops, I let the cat out of the bag a day early. Summer promo. Works though if you buy it even right now since it goes by registration. Go for it! If you buy it from esoundz you get an extra set of exclusive patches for all of the above for free as well this month. So... sink your teeth into that! Didn't need a group buy anyway. Instant great price. That sometimes works too!

Oh and this is even the case if you qualify for the crossgrades of those. Get the crossgrade and get the other free. Not bad huh?

We also have a sick Summer deal on our Gold refills for Reason. Sonic Refill Gold $249. and Miroslav Refill Gold $249. That's starting in a few minutes on www.esoundz.com and will also be available from various participating Sonic Reality dealers as well for those that have stock. RAW Gold for $249 as well which is incredible considering it's original price was close to $1,500 for 15 RAW Paks. But this is just a short Summer promo. Price will go right back up after.

First, holy cow! Cool!

Second...are you going to e-mail those of us who joined this GB when the Ringo/Motown/Bonham kits will be available? Because I want to, you know, improve Ringo. Thanks!

Allen is going to email each of you individually with your serials for the plug-ins. However, you might want to check your esoundz user area even right now for those loops. They should be in there today and tomorrow for most.

Sounds like another good deal Squids.

You know this Group Buy really wasn't for me, and even so - I came so close to buying in - and this is the only thread I've been reading.

I've found that with a Squids Group Buy, the original post rarely does it for me. It's the ongoing communication from Squids and others in the know that slowly turns me around. The vibe is important as well - you can be swept up in the enthusiasm.

To be honest, the moving of the thread and the additional policing has shocked me a little. I can't remember that needing to be done before. But I think the absence of posts decrying the blatant censorship from eSoundz speaks for itself. People were not interested in these posts remaining in the thread.

For me, I think even if I'd been swayed into making the commitment to this buy I would not have been disappointed. The price is pretty insane for what's being offered.

Congrats to all who will soon be enjoying the spoils of war. It was a pretty fun Group Buy to watch from the sidelines (all things considered).

Caleb

And this will likely end up being spun as untrue by some (or one) and before that happens I will say with absolute certainty that:

A) I don't work for esounds/SR (hey, I'm on the market, Squids - need some contract work done? hehe)
B) Squids has my back, as a customer and as someone who was on the brink of not being a customer
C) He's shown this (actually also Allen and Nikko too) with words AND actions on public threads (for others too) and when I had issues, gripes, and things I thought were seriously wrong but kept behind the scenes so I didn't end up looking like a jackass when I was wrong. And boy was I wrong - yes, I believe there have been mistakes made but far more than epointz and assurances have solidified my certainty in point B.

Heck, I've even accused others of fanboyism for esoundz and here I am showing the traits. There's a classic customer service tome called Raving Fans. I take back accusations of fanboyism and replace it with the more positive moniker raving fans. I am one. One that will still speak up when I feel I am (or we are) being wronged or things aren't cool. But a raving fan based on reactions, or better actions toward righting those issues.

I saw the loops (but I haven't downloaded them yet).

However, earlier on in the thread you were also talking about creating kits to go with each of these loop sets and suggested they would be available separately. That's what I was referring to.

It's funny because Buscemi is one of my examples of how important each customer is when I give my speeches at company meetings sometimes. I say "See? Not only did I save a customer from leaving for good but he's actually someone who hangs out with other esoundz and SR users and even sticks up for the company on occasion!" Thanks for helping me prove a point about customer service Buscemi. Truth be told, as the head of the company I just have a high standard when it comes to that stuff. Maybe it's because as a consumer myself I am tired of companies ripping you off, not caring, not having anyone with a brain answer the phone, not resolve issues with some class and appreciation of customer loyalty - the one thing that actually keeps you in business! I get it. So, the support team that I've hired - the actual people that are supposed to be in contact with customers - all share this philosophy too! That's why people are always saying that they have excellent support from esoundz... because of people like Allen, Mike and Ryan. Really nice, helpful, understanding, patient and generous people! That's the standard I want us to be at and IF we DO make a mistake... well, we'll make up for it! Naturally.

We really do care about each customer. It's been proven many times over and we have REAL customer testimonials to back that up (and none of the work for the company I can assure you). However, as we all know, you can't please everyone. Sometimes you have to let go. I'm willing to lose some people as a customer if they cause more harm than good. It's a shame but that's the way it is. But I suppose we deserve a little props for patience and willingness to give the benefit of the doubt. Patience has just about run out though...

And the rest of the browsers/shoppers are ready for a chat and always willing to advise. And because of that vibe, I'll always be back - sometimes looking and often buying.
+1 on this.

For me, kind of like shopping at Championship Vinyl--the record store John Cusack owned in Hi Fidelity. I'm old enough to have regularly shopped at actual record stores. :D

Alas calex, you continue to prove everyone's point. You still don't understand what a group buy is. Even more perplexing is that you don't seem to get that Squids has successfully been doing these for quite awhile before you came along. In fact, he's been so successful that other companies now come to him to host them. You might think that they are so easy to do that companies would just do them in house. But they recognize that Squids & Co. has this down to a science and they just make it look easy.

So please. We don't need or want your help. DO NOT join the next GB. We will somehow muddle through without you.

Cheers

Oh, those are for Kontakt. If you have Kontakt then great! They'll be available for download this mid-month... although I'll try to have them available before I leave for England. They're done in I-Map and GM already. Downloadable sized versions (although still around a gig!). We also have them coming in BFD2 and if anyone gets them in Kontakt and also wants them in BFD2 it's a cheap crossgrade to have both.

Ahhhh, fun to talk about the products instead of the people isn't it?

Hey cool, so because of me, instead of having to go through with these ridiculous GB's, Squids is just giving us the GB deal upfront. EXCELLENT! Where would you people be without me? 2 for 1 upfront. Very cool indeed. I'm on-board. Anyone enjoying this deal from Squids, just thank me!     Isn't life just the greatest?

What is RAW Gold? The deal sounds interesting if I can understand the product.
