I went to see RUSH 2 weeks ago and Geddy Lee had one onstage. He used it to play all his melodic synth lines and it sounded fantastic. They had multiple cameras onstage and you could see this synth very close as he did!

btw, of all the praise laid upon the Little Phatty, I haven't seen anyone mention the digital components. Moog really did digital right in this case, utilizing it for modulators and controllers where things don't need to be true analog. Not only does this mean the Little Phatty will last decades longer than other analog synths (including the Voyager) but the digital components are also software upgradeable, which is how you're able to add the arpeggiator, new LFO shapes, and other new functionality to even the discontinued original version.

Some good points there. It's one of the reasons I wanted a new analogue synth over one of the old classics. We have a Roland SH-101 at work. I could probably nab that but a lot of the sliders are noisy & need replacing. I bought the Neptune 2 brand new earlier this year for less than what most 101's go for on e-bay. It's a similar kind of synth to the 101 but it's nice to know it's new & everything works.

It didn't occur to me that the Little Phatty can be updated. So if you bought a Tribute you could upgrade the software with all the latest features? In that case what does the Stage II offer over the original? The original versions always go for less on e-bay.

True but it's an LFO, after all, so you can't fault them too much for it. Can't the analog oscillators also be used as modulators?

I would rather have a moog from the 1970's. Nothing is as good as the real thing.

Ironically enough, my Moog Prodigy's are much further from sounding like a real Minimoog than the Voyager is.
