If nobody's found any problems in 1.13 I'll make that the new official release now.
Just the one change so it shouldn't need lots of testing. Thanks again for pointing it out Teksonik. It was pretty obvious to me what it was once I heard it.
As far as annode's problem, I'm completely stumped. It's certainly a clue that it only happens when playing live. But unfortunately that means he can't send a .mid file for me to examine as we did to finally figure out dacaumodo's bug.
Is Cubase set to filter sysex out of the MIDI input? (That's the default I believe). I doubt that's it, I don't think hitting multiple keys causes any controller to send a burst of sysex. But just about anything is worth a try here.

No sysex Mike.
Watch this vid.
I forgot to capture the sound, but that shouldn't be a prob..if you want one with audio just ask.

Got to go out for a few hrs. I'll be back. Then soon after out again.

Wow that is weird. Have you tried selecting the different Knob Modes in PolyAna's Options? (Host Preference, Circular, Relative Circular and Linear)
Probably a long shot but it does happen when you are moving knobs so...........worth a try.
Mike, I've worked with 1.13RC1 today, banged out a few patches and haven't encountered any problems. Everything seems to be working fine.

catalog wrote: Bertill by Shruiken to get the growl in the melody track. Flofi by Betabugs for the harmony, Tl's pocket limiter, Blockfish by digital fish phones, and Arguru's Stardust as a mastering tool. The track is just 6 instances of PolyAna and one instance of Kore Player Free by NI for the hi hat. All synths, kick drum, and snare are PolyAna.

Just bought Poly-Ana on the strength of that RoyGBiv demo by Coktor...
I have a good feeling that I am going to truly fall in love with this synth!

AQ, do you have a forum on your site??

And yes, there's a board on the site but I don't use it much, except when there's a big Beta test happening. Still, feel free...

I won't lie to you and say i'll never use it or record with it. If you yourself never look for a fix, maybe i'll find the cause as I use it. I do seem to be on to it. If I come to it,maybe you will put it in an update and I again, can buy it and receive future updates.
I can see lots of room for changes to poly-ana, and i'd like to be able to get them.

Sorry, but I wouldn't send a refund after that statement. I've tried to help and I'm pretty sure Mike would fix your issue in a heartbeat.............if he knew what was causing the problem. I don't have anything to do with AQ other than being a customer but if this were my company I wouldn't issue a refund. However my offer to help resolve your issue still stands.

And here I assumed "issue me a refund" meant that the user would be deleting it from their machine. The user shouldn't be getting a free product when you've been proactively trying to resolve the issue. If they don't want to delete the product from their machine, then refuse the refund.
If you want to be thorough ask them to sign a notorized affidavit attesting to their having deleted the product from their machine prior to issuing a refund. I'm pretty sure this is a standard part of the Platinum Samples license transfer process.

To help clarify without needing to post the rest of the PM I sent to Mike...
I'm trying the best I can to find why notes hang for me,(and respectively pin the CPU sometimes as a result). If I don't use the synth, especially as I have been since i've had it,trying to make sense of this prob,it seems i'll never have a working/unbroken version.
Just for testing purpose, last night I installed it into my 1.1g celeron net pc along with "minihost".Minihost will play a 3 note chord into poly-ana with one qwerty key, eliminating midi,I believe. This test also failed and hung notes under certain and similar conditions.
I notice now it seems to be related to legato(adsr) and last note mode, and of course unison...but I still need to write down the parameter setting sequence.
There is something going on.I'm going to find it. I don't expect Mike to be interested. Maybe i'm wrong. We'll see.

I don't think you guys understand. I wanted and still want the damn synth!!!
On my system,it's a broken product!!! I don't use synths like poly-ana to ply nice little chords!
For my user puposes,it's trash to me unless I find what the prob is.
Now leave me the f**k alone!

Why can NOBODY else reproduce this then?annode wrote:To help clarify without needing to post the rest of the PM I sent to Mike...

And, as he seemed to be suggesting I quoted him out of context, here's annode's entire PM to me:
annode wrote: If you haven't seen this last vid from the "update" thread; (no sound, but will not matter)

I'm not angry anyone..just sad about the synth functioning as "broken" in my PC.It unfortunate for me.I went to a lot of trouble trying to isolate the problem. For example,if say you had broken electronics,I guess i'd need the schematic to assess it. Having a good schemo is close to being the designer himself....depending on how well I can understand it.(engineering)
In your case, this doesn't seem to apply. My hardware that has been ruled out just leaves the pc architecture....and of-course you are the designer of the insert device.
I have googled and found developers responding to "multiple" complaints concerning vsti hanging note probs within "it's" host.In the "Renoise" forum(2006), the developer fixed it, so I know this is not a new prob and can be fixed.(find text at page bottom) Calling from memory I believe he said that some vsti creators design in something that prevents this from happening in a midi system which this occurs.
If notes didn't hang...in my system, the pinning CPU wouldn't happen either in my guess-timation.
So,I am one person in a big computer assisted music creation world with this prob. At least so far.So even if you know how to go about making a fix for me,it just might be too time consuming to bother with it..for one person.
I've seen that in my google travels as well.
Even though i'm asking for the refund,i'll again be a paying client if you come to a fix someday. Until then I can't see any reason to be purchasing something that acts broken for me.
Please make out check and send refund to;

I think I have now at least an idea why this only happens for some VST(i)s only and depending on if you use ASIO or DS: Voyager seems to neglect NoteOffs when they are send immediately after a NoteOn at the same sample time. So when playing very very short notes (notes are received quantized in Audio time), this will result in a hanging note.
You will also notice this problem, when trying out something like:
"C-4 01 f0"
f0 is a notecut in tick 0, aka, the note gets triggered and in the same tick cut off again. Voyager will ignore this NoteOff here, other VSTs will (which is the correct behaviour) not hang...
Inote on/offs are processed at the same audio time, depends on the buffersize and if you are using ASIO or DS and of course of the real played note duration. DS has usually bigger buffersizes, so it happens more often with DS.
Not sure if I should add a hackaround for this. This is definitely a bug in the VSTs...[/url]

YOU decided to do this in public Barry. I'd have dealt with you personally and privately if you hadn't come in here and insulted me by accusing me of being a liar.annode wrote:I don't think you guys understand. I wanted and still want the damn synth!!!
