I'm quite curious. I've been listening to music from the Mortal Kombat games and tried to analyze their scales. The reason is I want to try write similar music with my own touch to it. So far I haven't come far with the analyze, so maybe one here could give a hint where to look?

I don't really remember the music that well, but I'm guessing lots of natural minor and phrygian; probably used with a rather pentatonic inflection. Can you post some clips with the kind of sound you want?

Hello...
kind of funny, but I am actually working on the music for the 8th part of Mortal Kombat with our team....Well take some half-diminished scales mix it with some pentatonic stuff (to get the asian influence) and use a hell lot of mediantic harmony. Dual-harmony works pretty well, too
