Can it really hurt them to just figure it out and publish it? They sure do seem to have a ton of marketing going on, yet no one there's sat down and said, "We'll need to sell the upgrade for X."
I don't know what their scheme is, but not knowing is causing me to sit on this and wait until Omnisphere is released. Maybe that's their plan? Seems counter intuitive. You'd think sales of Atmosphere were next to zero right now as people anticipate Omnisphere. If they published a clear upgrade price it would probably get me to buy Atmosphere now rather than wait, but a "You'll be happy." isn't enough for me. The facts ma'am, just the facts.

No dollar figures have been given, just repeated assurances.

ahh, give it 2 months and you will have all your questions answered. lets be honest- this is not a half-rate plug-in- it is a top of the line synth that should be hardware because it is so darn good. If you haven't listened to the demo's- or even read who's using Atmosphere- then you are missing out. I am sitting on the fence as well as I want to know what specs are needed for this beast- but I will definately be buying it (and whatever the Sylus replacement will be down the road).
It's funny, I have a lot of Eric's sounds in my Sonic Cell (with my SRX cards). I can't wait to have the full meal deal instead of the short samples (which are amazing on their own).
Also, congrats to all the contest winners- you all did a great job and definately inspired me to up the ante on my music.

As each week passes me by I am just looking more and more forward to this awesome synth.
I KNOW that Omnisphere will be good. Eric Persing has never failed to amaze me with the quality of the sounds that he designs.
Up until recently I haven't been that able to afford the synth, but now that I've been saving for a few years I'm able to grab it (along with the Xpanded Stylus RMX for the grooves and drumkits).
I'll still wait a few months after the release date and then grab it after Xmas.

Great entries in the Spectrasonics Remix Contest and some of them really deserves a price...
Personally, I had a lot of fun creating my own entry (who not won anything
),
but i wanna share them with you.
I hope it's okay for Eric and Spectrasonics,
to upload my 2 video on my myspace side.
If not, Eric, let me know and i will delete booth videos from my side.
I opened another thread about this topic, if you want,
you can post your entry there, as i did, too.

Hello,
I'm just about to place my pre-order for Spectrasonics Omnisphere, before I do I wanted to make sure it's running on XP64? Thanks in advance if you can help.

That is a good point- if retailers are taking pre-orders- then we should have specifications at least so we know if the program will work on our systems. Will Eric/Spectrasonics post this- it is not nice if they allow their supply-chain to take pre-orders without at least some firm details.

From the FAQ section of the Onmisphere site:
"Is Omnisphere 64 bit?
This is planned for the future as the music software industry transitions to 64 bit platforms."
So I'm assuming it's not.

This is what we have so far.
Omnisphere is cross-platform compatible with Apple Macintosh OS X 10.4 and higher as a native Universal Binary and also with Microsoft Windows XP/Vista.
Audio Units, VST, and RTAS plug-in formats are supported for compatibility with all major host software.
We need a better understanding of which versions of XP and Vista it will support, money in hand ready!

I would assume that it works in a 64 bit OS with a 32 bit host, but since Omnisphere is NOT coded in 64 bit so it won't run as a 64 bit plugin. This means, unless you are using something like Sonar's bitbridge, it won't work in a 64 bit host. You would have to be running in 32 bit.
I am not sure what other info is needed, but maybe I'm missing something?

I just need the confirmation that it's been tested and will indeed install and run smoothly on XP64.I can understand it not fully running in true 64 bit mode right now.
I guess my only concern is if it will run correctly as a 32 bit plug on XP64 for now.A confirmation will seal the deal for me. Thanks for responding btw..
