That's just plain cruel. If you are going to start a post with a paragraph like that then at least tell us a few of the things that you saw. Jeepers! $^&*# :dog:

More details, please!

Zedd Leplin, some things I can't give you details on. But that was the extent of what I could say... that they were LIKE X-files but obviously what goes along with that is a major NDA. Believe me, when you see some things as cool as this you WANT to tell all of your friends but you just can't. The good news is that a lot of it will be seen and heard about in Ken's book though. That's my goal. However, some things never end up in books I've learned. For instance, Paul McCartney had an identical twin! (just kidding!!!!!!)

But, I can tell you that I've seen a lot of cool old gear from way back when. This is at Abbey Roads and this week we're heading over to a studio that has an old Redd 51 consolue (the same model used on White Album and Magical Mystery Tour... and I think Sgt Pepper as well, maybe more) and a TG12345, the console which was used on Abbey Road and Dark Side of the Moon. To be honest I am much more of a gearhead than Ken. He's more interested in the people and I light up when I see some relic tube piece or an ancient ribbon mic. I saw this one mic that was built in the 30's by EMI that is MASSIVE and they still use it today for an old radio kind of sound. There's only 4 in the world ever made. Cool stuff like that but also stories and all sorts of bits and pieces. Fun stuff!

Mango + beer = ? I dunno, why would anyone screw up beer that way? You were in freakin' London fer God's sakes. A Double Diamond would have been better than Mango beer. Try a Ruddles County Best if you see it...London Pride or Whitbread would do in a pinch....I prefer John Smith's over Sam Smith's but that just me.

Seriously, a Ruddles is good and you can pay tribute to Monty Python at the same time ;-)

I dunno, Ruddles tastes nasty to me -- it stigs in my throat.

I tried a great ale yesterday - a German one called 'Black Monarch' it was dark and had a refreshing sweet taste. It was almost like Russian 'Kvas' if you've ever tried it. I love the beer houses in Moscow :D

I made up for it with some London Pride the next day. I met the guy who mixed Echoes for Pink Floyd (he bought me the beer actually) and I had some decent fish and chips... not GREAT though. I could have had THE ONE if I could only wait until later but I was Hank Marvin. ;)

Just went to Shoreham today to see Herbie Flowers. Incredible interview. He's played bass on so many records. He came up with the "Take A Walk On The Wild Side" bass riff (among many other things... he played the Pink Panther bass line too for Mancini). Nice guy! Some of these stories... if we didn't get two people like Ken Scott and Herbie Flowers together or Trevor Bolder or Chris Thomas, Ken Townshend then I wonder if we'd ever know some of these things that happened on those CLASSIC Bowie, Beatles, Floyd, Stones and other sessions back then. I talked at length with Chris about Dark Side of the Moon at Abbey Road as well as Alan Parsons a few weeks ago in Nashville. I've been going all over the place with this but it is a passion of mine. These albums all sound amazing and the more we know about the way they were done and the stories behind them while we can the better as far as I am concerned. Nothing or no one lasts forever.
Good Lord. Shoreham. My neck of the woods!!!
