Hi,
finally, my symphony seems to be finished, which took from 2001 to last weekend. During this time, I rewrote parts of it for at least two times and changed the orchestra library twice (I'm using EWQLSO Gold XP now). Don't expect something "easy-listening", this is contemporary orchestra music. :hihi: Especially the first movement will need some repetitions to get used to (maybe start with the fourth movement... :wink: )

I just had a listen and I enjoyed it. :clap:

I did not find it hard to listen to at all. After your warning I was expecting modern atonal stuff, which this wasn't.

I am not a great authority on classical music although I am a big Mahler fan. (having owned many many different recordings of his 2nd,3rd & 5th over the years)

look forward to symphony nr2. :)

I enjoy it as well.
I'm more a Brucknerian than a Mahlerian :)
Quite easy to listen actually, if you're a bit familiar with "modern classical".
Anyway, congrats for the hard work, requires a lot of patience and courage.

Andreas well done, easy to listen to, very cinematic, you put Danny Elfman to shame. Good music to A&R, I'm sure someone will pick this up to mixdown on a dramtic visual piece. I think six years of your life is well worth this finished piece. What do you what to do with these parts, any plans?

Very well spended time listening to this one. I definitly enjoyed the vivace part the most. But that doesn't make it the best part. The entire composition is amazing!

Thank you for all your kind replies, this means very much to me!

@xtp: You are right, this is no avantgarde. People who are able to listen to moderate modern orchestra music will have no problems (I'm just not sure how many they are...) And yes, I love Mahler's music, too.
@easymode: Oh, Bruckner. This was probably the greatest composer ever. How sad, he could never hear his eigth symphony.
@ProductBE: My plans are: sharing this music. Dreams: finding an orchestra willing to play it :love:

Finally had time to listen to this properly.

This is very good work, and I shall enjoy listening to it many times.

If a musical director were to want to perform your music how would they go about seeing bits of the score?

Don't worry, I've no connection whatsoever to any orchestras :)
Just figured that I may as well ask in order to facilitate the process.

Oh, and damn me for not noticing this right before I have to leave for work.
I don't want to listen rushed, so I'll most likely be back tonight.

I've listened to the whole piece 4 times now, and every time I find something new. A wonderful music. I'm sure it will be played live one day. I'd just send the score around a bit, some orchestras really want to play new good music. Heidelberger Symphoniker maybe :)
