Hi, please give a listen to this track..

What do you think?

Any good ideas for the mix, composition, anything?

Best regards

I liked it a lot, but I think you need to reduce the volume of that drum.

Other than that it was great.

i like the music and feel, well done.

i wasnt seduced or excited by the tonal quality of the vocals, no 'personality', is that you? if you cant get a new singer :) then how about some heavy processing to make them more electronica.
OR have a much stronger melody line, at the moment its a little flat, and the song just stops and its a bit unsatisfactory - either extend the track and add some layers to make it more hypnotic and/or have a chord change / stronger vocal melody

I agree with exxxy... Vocals are not electronic or "industrial" enough. That would add to the dark feeling of the song and would be particularely nice.

Nice track ! Keep up the good work !

Hi Soeren,

interesting tune. all in all it sounds a little unfinished. As if it would need some more different part(s). At least one harmonically and arrangementwise different part could help the listener to be/stay more interest over a longer time. Now quite some little things are happening here and there which is good but the basic feel is the same for most of time. More contrast would help.
Overall mix is OK.
Vocals would need some compression to sound more consistent. Not exactly clear against the backing track which is more consistent with all the synths and percussion going on.
I like your (the singers) voice.

P.S: Please tell a bit about your used gear.

Thank you all very much for your feedback.. It is much appreciated

I think you're right about the drums.. reheard it after a few days away, and the drums/snare is not good..

I too hear that the vocals are not good in the mix. I saw a post by Kim about setting the vocals in the mix, and I'll try that, when I have some spare time.

Hmm.. A new part?.. Guess I could work something out bewteen the guitar and bass to add some rock flavor... A break with a heavy build-up.. Yep-. Another spare time prject =)

About the gear.
Mindprint USB (interface preamp) adk 51 (mic) OLP Bas, PRS Se Guitar, Cubase SX3. ESI nEar 05 (monitors)

VSTs: (all free)
Tapeworm->glitch = Pads
Waldorf Attack (basicly the 808 preset)->Bionic delay (snare), madshifta (marracas)=Drums
Sounds of nature, retrodelay, kjaerhus reverb

Rubika>I agree with you on the vocal, and how they ought to sound more industrial. I actual was thinking more of Thom Yorke than NIN when I did it, but maybe industrial would be the way to go.
Any suggestions on how to achieve this? I'm think a bit of distortion or maybe a little bit crushing. Anything else?
