Someone actually listened to and commented on this thing recently. YT suggested it?

Overdubbed lead guitar I think in May 2010. The original post looks like an earlier version. I re-EQ'd in 2021.

I grabbed the mp3, but won't look at the words til I'm hearin' it at home.

I am still so terribly jealous of your band name. :(

In your short time posting songs on KVR it seems you've got the bug to explore random types of music at whim. Don't you love America?

I think I'll start a porno music band called Eau De Joie.

Post

yeah, you gotta try out the words over the rhythm
*scansion*

yeah I love america
the world
the whole ballgame

life!

Post

I love your tracks in this style, they are melodically within my grasp yet compositionally complex. The mix has enough space to discern each voice clearly. To me it tells a story of a man on a journey... this could be about Odysseus or perhaps even Virgil.

Thanks. :)

thanx, & you're welcome

yeh, I was kinda going for a an archaic vibe...

I was thinking 'desert', which is why so pont sec, sonically

Post

Lovely cuneiform tune, sounds smoothly hi-fi. I love prog with some sense of humor. The only downside is that it gets a little repetitive after a while, how about some small tempo change? Unless it's a soundtrack thing.

Post

the stupid beat exists for the words to scan against;

this isn't an instrumental track [well IT IS NOW, fool]

I did find it monotonous enough to make that middle section, 15+15+14+14? for a break
which might beg a horn or gtr outburst

I need a mic., the lyrics are good syllables-in-meter

cuneiform? wedge-like??

or the label?

Meant the label.

Post

The "label" as in there's a music label called that? Nice name.

Obviously I'm rather attracted to the rhythms of it, the syncopated funkiness.

However the sound design is a deal-killer. OMFG jan this whole forum is abuzz with freeware you could use! I don't think Bobby Brown would use that bass.

Sorry, I couldn't hold it in.

I wish we lived physically proximate for about a week at least to help each other knock out some tracks. I have a nice 3-pattern USB mic for vocals.

Eau de Joie featuring Money Shot.

Ok. Need an instrumental 'solo' sort of deal in the middle section, and. I. Got. Nothing.
@ ca. 2:19.5, til that bit ends @ 2:47. It's just too-tight shoes for me or my greasy style on gittar.

I nominate Jazzyspoon on distorto guitar, which is something I vaguely recall mentioning.

But hey, I'll take on all comers.

Ahem.

Cuneiform. Steve Feigenbaum. Henry Kaiser's on Cuneiform. Kind of Eurocentric mostly.

I like that bass. It's the one I use all the time. You're deaf. :x

I do wish we were more proximate. I wanna do the vocals on this one, Believe It or Not.

Post

I'd be singing for hours a day if I didn't live with other people :(

Post

Well, I have some poor guy doing the Godz Eatz vocals now, I'd prefer you but you dint come thru.

This one has enough spoken, and is kind of a meltdown blues sliding thing for me to just get away with it.
Rhythmically it's got too many idiosyncrasies and subtleties in the way it scans (and I'm attached to it) to ever teach anyone to do it unless of course they really loved me.

Post

I'm starting to think I would like to hear one of your Absynth drone on this. I still listen to the tracks I mastered for you all the time
