Hi,

I'd like to inform you guys that we've just released TruePianos v1.4.0
The news section on the website isn't updated yet, but that will happen some time in the next 24 hours.

The not yet officially released changelist:
- New module called Amber.
- Build-in reverb (MIDI CC controllable).
- Minor tweaks to the Diamond, Emerald and Sapphire modules.
- CPU usage optimizations for the Diamond, Emerald and Sapphire modules.
- Improved memory management under Windows.
- An additional version of the Sapphire module without the pedal sounds.
- Several minor engine bug fixes for both Windows and MAC OS X.

This update is free for all our customers and can be downloaded from the customer section of our website at http://www.truepianos.com/.

Please note that all modules will have to be redownloaded to avoid compatibility issues with the new v1.4.0 engine.

For a quick impression on the new Amber module (Large preset) using slight in-engine reverb listen to:

To get an impression on the quality of the reverb at extreme settings applied over the current Sapphire module listen to:

Another improvisation using the Amber module (Default preset):

For those who haven't tried TruePianos yet, an updated trial/demo version with build in reverb is available from our website.

BIG thanks Roel.

Btw, any news on True Pianos v2.0?

Post

Hi,

It'll arrive some time this year if all goes as planned. I'll give some glance at it probably in the form of a MP3 recording as soon as I get permission to do so to demonstrate what it's all about.

Right now however we've released v1.4.0 and I'd like to not stray away towards a future product at the moment since this topic is not about TruePianos v2.0. Apart from that there is not much more I can release to you guys about it at this moment other than what I've already said in past posts.

Hi Roel

Just finished installing 1.04 and everything is working great. I like the reverb, pedal noise on Sapphire, and the new Amber. On the Amber demo, the hammer/piano noise sounded a bit loud. However, when playing Amber live, it sounds better. I'll need more time to evaluate as this is a worthy addition.

All in all, great update and thanks for all the hard work.

Excellent, thanks Roel. I like the reverb and Amber.

After some playing, I must say, that I am a little bit dissapointed with the Amber module. Soundwise, I really love it and would love to use it, but on one of the higher octaves the noises/rumble is too loud, too much "wood".

Maybe there can something be done with it in the future ?

Cheers

I noticed that too. More specifically it's from F4 through D5 (C3 = middle C), with G#4 the worst. It seems to be most prominent with the "Ambient" and "Large" presets. Plus there's something odd with B4 and C5 - as if something vibrates out of tune. With pedal down it's even from A#4 through D5. Response is also a bit inconsistent in that range. I tried at different sample rates - no change.

Other than that it's a nice update. The reverb is very pleasant.
