Acusticaudio's Nebula program lets you actually 'sample' sonic characteristics of certain effects such as preamps, phase effects etc. Depends what sort of stuff you make but it'd take hours to do rather than months at the very least to code your own effect ideas.

Zoom does have some amp sim sofware now, but it's not free, didn't this guy's thread say it would be free.

Count me in fully. I would love to be of any help possible although coding is not a strong point, i am excellant at creating presets and will be happy to Beta test and put in many hours of my time. If this is any help for you at all. I have been playing 13+ years and know what a decent pedal sounds like

im am exicited by this vision and would enjoy being part of something. So count me in
