The Reaper arrived and told me to uninstall it from my hard drive and put it out of its misery!

Post

Haven't used Cubase since I stopped using an Atari ... :)

Good luck with that . . .

Hmmm Cubase... What's that? 8)

I gave my Cubase SX2 away to a good cause when I switched to Reaper - BUT it just happened that for what I want, Reaper was a better match of particular tool to particular task and I have no doubt that for other tasks in other users' hands Cubase would be much better than Reaper - etc etc, before another round of battle commences.

Aaaah my old Atari .... I started using Cubase when I moved from Atari to PC ... then wondered why the f**k I couldn't do a lot more with 500 megs memory and 20 gigs HD than I was doing with my Atari 1-smegger!

Ah well, they say the journey is more fullfilling than the destination ( who says?... I dont know but they do! ... ) ... I will be courteous and give Cubase credit for the learning experience, and some good shit I got done with it, but hey! .....my hard drive aint no retirement home for useless old apps with more fat than muscle.

So bye bye Cubase, in time we'll laugh about your quirks, and your ' hang on, I'm on the case, just gimme a minute' behaviour, and we'll forgive you for the 'if you haven't saved, you're as f**ked as I am' announcements.

That about says it all ... apart from the fact I love reaper so much right now that the very word excites me .... I find myself slipping it into every sentence, unable to prevent it slipping into every thought, and compelled to type it ... randomly, or just typing it over and over on an email to myself

... so sad eh? reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper ................. Suppose it would be appropriate to send some love to all you KVR folk for introducing me to my new mistress ... thank you!!! reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper-reaper ... ( sing) ..By the reapers of baa-bee lon ... That old man reaper, he jus keeps rowwlin aaa-long!

Oh, wasn't that Justin who sang 'Cry me a Reaper' ...?

Who said Zebra... what?

Oh sorry, you're talking about Reaper. I know it's gotta be one of the two here.

In light of the OP's deliriously fawning post i wish to play devils advocate in the name of neutrality and balance.

There, it is done, now both extremes have been covered and all posts now lie between these two points.

its great that another player has entered the scene, some may realize the host they have isnt good for them, others may use it and realize how much they love their current host

But what about Pro Tools?
