DHR53 wrote:So Spaceman... you didn't even get the DP6 up and running? Hmmmm... I've been wondering about Cubase 4.1 for a long time. I owned 2.0 SX and used it for awhile... Had no problems with it except at the time, the midi controller setup for the Mac didn't work... but that was a long time ago. Still, nobody wants to admit they switched from Logic to Cubase (on the Mac side) these days. Wonder why?
Yeah, I eventually ended up testing Cubase 4 and it just clicked. I used to run SL2 a long while back but that just annoyed me too much in certain areas. But all those issues have been resolved it seems. The mixer doesn't piss me off any more, sample editor is great, I can move inserts now, etc. and I actually quite like MediaBay, and I've always liked the editing workflow in Cubase and the shortcuts as well, not too mention the midi fxs.

The simple fact was that I was loosing too much time in Logic. Everything seems to take a few more clicks than needed and some things are just missing, like per-clip fx.

Not only that, but it'll stop playing when you hit the spacebar a second time!

Amazing! :o

Oh sorry, you're talking about Reaper. I know it's gotta be one of the two here.
Oh really? I missed the Zebra part. BTW, I use both. :hihi:

Yeah, truely old school. But soooo powerful in certain ways. And soooooo non powerful in certain other ways. E.g.: Who needs to render tracks fast anyway? Let the clients pay for the waiting! :tu:

Damn, I saw this thread and I thought they really killed it!

What's Reaper--some kind of breakfast cereal laced with rat poison?

Klemperer wrote:Poor Mr. Cubase. How old was he? A broker? A jazz singer? A postmodernist professor who got 97? I heard they now would use his name to make a new sequencer. Name is CUBASE 5. Now that will make him famous. It even has a little dongle! Do you? :hihi: (okay, okay...)
Now THIS IS retro! We had Cubase5 about 8 years ago ...
