Automation Params in Ableton Live?

So, I've been a CubaseSX user for quite a while, and I'm now starting to use Ableton Live (7.0.9). As such I'm getting used to the new layout/flow and I'm not quite sure how to map my CC messages to knobs within Zebra.

In the past, I've used "MIDILearn" within Zebra but this doesn't appear to work from within Live.
Also, it "seems" easy enough to use Live's parameter list but it doesn't seem to list all the parameters available within Zebra. For example, I'll instantiate a VCF filter within Zebra, but I can't seem to find the corresponding "Cutoff" and "Formant" within the huge list of params available within Live.

I've attached a pic to make it clearer:

In this photo, I can see the whole list (and scroll the navigation in the bottom right of the image) to see the rest of the parameters, but I can't find "Cutoff".

So, here's my question: am I doing something wrong? Should I expect to find "Cutoff" in the list of available automation parameters within Live? Is there something I should be doing to get "MIDILearn" to work again within Zebra. (I'm using Zebra 2.2.1b7). Thanks in advance for any and all help...

The best bet currently to circumvent this dilemma (only 128 parameters visible) is to assign XY-controls to the parameters you want to automate.

A quick way to do this is to first assign the parameter to an axis in "XY assign" and then double-click the range control until the down-facing arrow is left of the colourful band while the up-facing arrow is right of it. Now that Parameter can be automated via the corresponding XY-control:

I've planned to make a quick-assign directly on the knobs... just hadn't had time yet...

Yep assign what you want to the X/Y's then you can map those in Live. I used to do this before i go my notation remote zero. The zero sees it all and live records it fine.

The novation will see all the parameters but how can you get live to record them? I can assign them with my novation too but live will still see only first 128 parameters for automation.

I just use midi CC's to automate the parameters in zebra.

Thanks guys, that worked great. Incidentally, I'm using a Novation ReMote as well, but I have the first generation "ReMote 61" that does NOT support Novation's Universal Automap feature, so I'm manually setting up my CC mappings.

The X/Y solution did work great though, thanks again... :)
