Auto save function(optional 5 or 10 minutes), XT crashes a lot when changing presets from a VSTi and the sequencer is running...

-A way to save the inserts (and sends, preferably) with a clip.
-A way to save an effect-chain as a group, and create a front-panel for it with a few parameters, as in Ableton Live when grouping effects.

being able to insert midi plugins on instrument tracks ala xt1. as it is now i have to route in the modular view, or do many clicks in the output context menu list.

I really love the modular view, but when you're working in the sequencer, it's handy to see your midi-plugins at a glance, as you do your audio effects.

quantization should have an adjustable eigthts feeling between straight eights to extremely dotted ones.
That should also be reflected in the grid.

Easier instalation on linux using package manger (with jack support built in)

Also better midi support for external hardware eg sysex and midi sync i/o

Playing the note you place into the sequencer, and playing it again when you drag the note up or down.
