MIDI duration effect?

What I'm looking for is a plugin that plays each midi note for a limited time only.

I use a Yamaha EZ-AG midi guitar, and the notes ring out literally forever until I hit the mute bar. I have scripting programs which fix it completely, but I am looking for vst solutions.

I also have a Casio DG-20 midi guitar, and the midi notes actually ring out for a limited time, which can be both helpful and annoying. But it's ideal like that, it also has a mute bar on it but I never feel the need to use it.

Been looking into Piz midi, Soma, Reaper's Jesusonic, haven't found the duration effect yet. Might try to make one in Synthedit?

it's kind of ugly and confusing. you can set a minimum and maximum length, with optional velocity sensitivity (quiet notes are shorter). i don't remember exactly how it works, but just to limit lengths, turn off the top section (min length) and the knob in the middle. set the maximum length as a note value from the dropdown, or use the knob to set it in milliseconds.
