It probably will be.... I guess, kraznet, you can look a bit behind the magix scenes (right?).

What will come up in MS2009 = MS15? :D

(Of course I know that you won't answer even IF you could...) :)
<I'll jump in...>

There's talk of some GUI improvements, and probably some minor issues that I am not aware of.
Perhaps some more direct project integration with Samplitude Pro - already possible to swap in files anyways now (I've done it), but perhaps could be easier/faster.
MS14 is already a great release IMO.

Don't ask me, I just play here.

yeah, it's really great, but the lack of multiprocessor support makes it virtually worthless for really working with it - but i see that for you guys that have also sam pro it is an ideal no-dongle tracking solution!

would you now anything about the multiprocessor thing? it would be soooo nice..

cheers

would you now whether the update cycle of samplitude is normally yearly? meaning that it might be a good idea to maybe wait one more month instead now springing for sam 10?..
The update cycle used to be yearly although it usually ended up about 18 months for the English version . I think Samplitude 11 is quite a way off yet and I have a feeling there will still be a patch or two for Samplitude 10 so I wouldn't worry too much if you're concerned about buying version 10 and finding version 11 is released in a months time . I think were talking about a minimum of nine months before version 11. Also I believe that Samplitude Music Studio 15 will arrive very soon (just to muddy the water) although it will be the German version first as usual. It is a bit confusing having so many different versions of Samplitude but I have a feeling SMS 15 will be quite an interesting release.

Samplitude Music Studio 15... well... I can't say too much at this time...

Okay, one thing, in progress. BeatBox2 (engine by me). Two snippets below. Initially a 16-track drum machine, BB2 includes different synthesis models, per-track fx, assignable param knobs per track, parameter automation, but it already can play back ordinary samples, too... :)

http://digitalfishphones.com/temp/bb2demo.mp3
[Just 1 track, 1 instance of the machine. No samples involved in this file, everything machine-only, no other synths, no other fx, no post-processing. Synths are created by BB2's phase-distortion synthesizer. Melodies & dynamic fx are performed by its step sequencer automation.]

http://digitalfishphones.com/temp/bb2cymbals.mp3
[Physical modelling synthesis playing some cymbals. Again, no samples.]

Good to see this thread go so long as it shows how much interest there is in Samp which deserves more of a mention around here :)

I think you have convinced me to upgrade from Music Studio 14 to 15 when it comes out Sascha

Very impressive Sascha :tu:

WOW!! sounds stunning and very promising! and you said you can also use your own waveforms as modulation sources?!?

i of course understand if you can't speak too much about it yet, but PLEASE PLEASE make them to implement real dualcore-support and higher bitrate freeze, we will also pay double the price :!: :!:

EDIT: oh, i was a bit fast reading, i now see: "..play back ordinary samples"

cheers

.... plus:

mono objects glue-ing should lead to a new mono object (not as now to a a weird stereo object).

HI

The amount of host threads I have heard people bemoaning the lack of multi-cpu facility is untrue.

This technology has been around for years now and some companies seem to think it a 'luxury' extra!

As I said in my earlier post: having your coders actively go away and TAKE OUT such essential features that have been coded into an app seem ... well, insane!

Drop a few plugins, the 500 page printed manual, the box - but essential features!

Flipper.

Perhaps you don't understand how difficult it is to make even a basic application multi-processor efficient, let alone a complicated very time-dependent application work well.

I don't understand that either, BUT:

When Mackie announced Tracktion 3 late 2006 it did not include multicore support and there were complaints on the forum. They listened to that feedback, and two months later when they made the official January NAMM announcement it had been added. They only have a small team - about 3 people compared to Magix's 300 (mentioned earlier int he thread) - so I really don't see why this is a problem. :?

There aren't 300 people working on Samplitude . More like 4 or 5 coders AFAIK .

Tracktion is both a far smaller program than samplitude, and multi-cores were already around(or coming out) when tracktion was first made. IIRC It was made with the intention of supporting it in the future.

Pretty much every magix product has been around longer than tracktion except their new vst plugs.

I also doubt they have more than 3-5 people working on the program out of those 300.

Think what you like... Kraznet was close: counting up our Sam team, I see 6 devs (me in my sandbox included, so actually 5 doing the main coding), plus 3 supporters. Though it should be mentioned our team leader codes like 3... ;)

that's true, but music studio has the same core as samplitude which has proper multicore support, so what needs work is DISABLING multicore support and not IMPLEMENTING it since it's natively implemented.. it's an "economical" decision not to put it in (which they hopefully will overthink), not a technical. c'mon, even my tamagochi has multiple cores nowadays..;-)
