Well, it is my understanding that any non-driver using application that is 32 bit SHOULD run with no issues on a 64 bit system, just that it would have to have the 32 bit limitations(RAM, etc.). My wife has a 64 bit system(including Vista64) and everything she's tried to run has had no issues. And most of it was not written for 64bit.

So I would assume that Omnisphere would work. However, if your host is 64 bit and doesn't have something like BitBridge, then it wouldn't work because the host would need 64 bit plugins.

Obviously I can't tell you what systems it was tested on though.

Well, does it run on G3, G4, and G5 Mac systems. What's the recommended Mac sys config? What's the recommended Windows sys config? Will it run on Linux? Etc.

I understand what you're asking, but I wasn't answering that. I was only trying to answer the 64 bit question. A LOT of companies don't let out system requirements until closer to release though because things can change. The software can be optimized or a feature added or enhanced. And even though pre-orders can be done, you won't get it any faster than ordering the week before it's released, will you? So I would just wait until the concrete info is out.

It does say that it's designed for modern computers. It IS Universal Binary compatible, just like RMX. But I would assume it won't work on a G3, and maybe not a G4 since those are nearing three or four and more years old now. I would also assume it's not designed for Linux.

These are all just assumptions of course. But it does say it's designed to run "optimally on modern computers". I would ASSUME that since it's not just a rompler, but also a complete, full fledged synthesizer, that an older computer will not suffice though.

I obviously don't have any information that anyone else doesn't have. I'm just drawing conclusions. I will get the press release as soon as it is sent, but I won't know anything sooner than anyone else will.

I don't know that it's really Spectrasonics that determines pre-sales. Retailers will do that to decide how many to order much of the time. So if they are selling it without info, it's because they haven't been given it yet. It really is still early to give the final information on that anyways, IMO.

In that case it should work on every computer manufactured from 1940 to the present.

I run many x86 products on x64 Vista. I think Omni will run on pretty much any modern system.
