Hi all

Just came across a new use for Rhino: Enviormental ambiences such as Rainforests, oceans, ect..basically nature sounds.

My daughter asked me to create a piece with nature sounds in the background. I was going to use a nature CD. Then I remembered that Rhino had some nature waveforms built into it. So I quickly programmed a few enviormental type patches: very simple using one or two oscillators and a reverb or long delay. One used a waterfall waveform agienst a pond waveform. It worked: that combo created a raining rainforest patch! A new use for Rhino! I had always used these patches more for an effect within a patch and not as a patch in itself.

anyway: thought I would share this here.

I'm going to the jungle now 8)

kewl Tim thanks for the idea...

well then, how about a bank of pure animal patches... monkey howls, grunts, elephant trumpets, and tiger growls.. Lion roars, snakes hissing and rattling... LOL you know the whole zoo... LOL

not being a patch master, I can only leave it to the experts! :)

Hi all

heres an example of the nature enviormental sound.

about 2 MB

I used Rhino for the nature sounds and also a 1 note algorithmic. Fit right in with the flute that I created with the upcoming CA5000 from Camel Audio. Very cool flute patch as well. I am on the sound design team for that.Enjoy.

love that flute Tim... will that run on Rhino??? the rain forest in the mp3 is a bit too 'staticy' for me ... but I'm sure it can be sizzled down, eh?

nice
completely on another topic.
Tim,
did you do anything to master that mp3?
that's one of the crsiper mp3's I've heard lately and in addition to learning how to program rhino, I'm picking up a bit on mixing/mastering.

just curious.

that is a great flute sound

All I did was add EQ and compression. I am getting some comments however, that it is a bit statically. I think I need to do a remix and filter down some of the higher harmonics on the rainforest :o

and the flute sound is the CA5000, but perhaps we can make one for Rhino ( why not?)
