Please excuse my ignorance and/or lack of forum search skills, but what's this StudioPhonik thing that gets mentioned here ever so often? (Most of the time in sentences like "Where's StudioPhonik?", "We want StudioPhonik!", "Oh, StudioPhonik is gonna be sooo great!!", etc).

Another SampleTank spinoff, this time for studio instruments:

Oh, so it's in the KVR database. I didn't even think of looking there!

Thanks for the info!

StudioPhonik is a fictitious program that accidently showed up in a Sweetwater catalog years ago and has never seen the light of day... What started out as a great idea has now been dwindled down to a few guitar patches and drum loops that will probably debut as individual esoundz downloads... Somebody please prove me wrong.

Like Bigfoot, the Lochness Monster, and the extraterrestrial inhabitants of Area 51, many claim to have actually seen the oft-proclaimed mythical phenomenon that is Studiophonik, but so far, no truly compelling evidence of its existence has actually been proffered. Like these other legends, 'proof' of Studiophonik sitings has been made available only through grainy, unverified photographs released to fringe media outlets. Experts have routinely debunked such evidence as the work of pranksters who are presumed to just be passing the time until the receding winter weather allows them to resume their crop-circle producing activities.

A noted fortune hunter and adventurist, going only by the name of 'Squids,' has devoted his professional life to locating and capturing an actual working copy of the elusive program. Though financing for his quest dried up several years ago, apparently owing to a dispute among sponsors for patch-naming rights, rumor has it that Squids is very close to obtaining a new round of financing as a result of newly procured evidence that parts of the source code for the program were spotted on a hard drive on the deck of a fishing vessel sailing off the coast near Palermo. Confirmation is being made through satellite photos obtained from a rogue link tapped from an Interpol feed, but it's all really very hush-hush, and I've probably said more than I should as it is. 8)

I think you forgot to mention Atlantis. :hihi:

As to the original question, that was a super LOL for me. Not the question itself, the question was good. But we old time users keep on talking about it and this must look like a secret mystery to the newer inhabitants of the Sonic Realicy sphere in our KVR galaxy.

I'm not hooked on chronic, I'm hooked on phoniks :)

Post

Well.... okay, here's what we're going to do. Check it out. Studiophonik Prelude Group Buy. It's most of the sounds of Studiophonik in ST format available BEFORE it comes out. Depending on how well the GB does Studiophonik the full plug-in with more sounds and a GUI will come out sooner than later... and everyone who joins the group buy will get a FREE upgrade to the full version of Studiophonik. Oh and get to pick out an extra IK plug-in on top (choosing between Metal, T-Racks, SampleTank 2 L or Miroslav CE) for free... GB going as low as $199 if 200 people join. You get 2 gigs of SPK sounds + an IK plug-in (choose ST2L if you don't have SampleTank already so you can PLAY those sounds... but if you DO have SampleTank then choose one of the others).

Sound good? We're going to start it today or tomorrow. Not easy to pull off I might add but... Squids are clever. ;)

Oh and that means it will be downloadable by the end of this month. If we can reach say 300 people then it might be possible to have the full version of Studiophonik plug-in released by Novemember... and a free upgrade for everyone in the GB. If it is less it might take second seat to some other interesting IK products coming out... but I have to lobby for this one and you guys can help by showing your support... plus you'll end up with a great deal regardless (free plug-in, cheap deal on SPK and you'll have it this month!!!). Are you in or what?

Post

wow Squids, sounds like a great deal.

I was wondering if an option to choose Ampeg SVX would be included? (I have all the other IK FX).

Cheers.

We only have those choices above but they are diverse at least. We can get you a deal on Ampeg SVX though.
