Fair enough.

I'm old, old school though. I have to admit that I do like some of his tracks. However, I've got enough Vinyl to fill a wall.

What makes me sore is that I spent many years learning how to blow up a dance floor with wax. I'm talking about the old days when DJ's, like myself, would let a mix ride for like three minutes. I'm talkin about having those beats locked so tight, that you only had to itch the pitch control ever so slightly.

This is something that DJ's today do not value. To the best of my knowledge, Deadmau5 only started to Dj because his tracks were sellin like hotcakes. He has only been seen using an Allen and Heath mixer with Live built in. I mean come on. That mixer could knock out an hour set by itself. Yes, that funny head costume is a bonus. But let's at least call it what it is.

What I mean to say is that back in the day you did not have to sabotage other Dj's to make yourself look good. You just had to get up on those Technics and ROCK THE F*CKING HOUSE!

This whole "nobody can use Live and nobody can play tracks faster 126bpm" is just plain Dickish! If it's true!
can you post more info on that a&h with built in live? i'm really intrigued and i need exactly this

Good tunes are good tunes!! Don't cut your nose off. Sasha was a coked up dick for years but didn't stop him making unbelievable music and certainly would never put me off buying it!

Did anyone actually read this? The info is from the club manager, NOT Deadmau5. There may just be some technical reasons behind the decision (setup times, soundchecking, etc) or it could be total bullshit. Get a grip you lot ...

Nice idea!

well m8's, this is a bonifide piece of bullshit if you ask me. lol.

neither me or my agency would make a statement saying "deadmau5 requires that all opening acts do this, that, or the other thing"

its just a crock of shit really... ah the politics of throwing a party huh?

:D

You might want to get in touch with whoever it is that told this guy that he couldn't use Live and give him a right good verbal bol*ocking. Between KVR and the Ableton forums and goodness knows where else, your name is being dragged through the mud.

I can't tell whether you have this kind of BS in your contracts or not but I definitely know at least of one case where a similar thing was requested by the agency of a well-known DJ. So it seems to be "popular" these days.

BTW, you're doing good stuff (most of the time) and you're lucky to be at the right place at the right time. But always keep in mind that things can change very quicky in this business.

It's good to see you here at KVR !

The BSOD tunes are what got me back into House and Tecno after a lull of 12 or so years. You can't even imagine how inspiring they were to me.

but my fav is 'The Reward Is Cheese'

well i can tell you... i dont have anything like that in my contracts, in fact, im VERY removed from any "goings on" between promoters and management, as i've got alot more things on my plate to worry about... so alot of the "oh, hes a fuckhead" or "i cant believe he did this or that" 99.9 percent of the time has absolutley nothing to do with the artist in question anyway... that goes for just about anyone else as well.

i find it quite shameful for most people to make a judgement on someones character because of the logistics of a performance, which like i said... is sorted by other people, and not myself... if i had to oversee every contract, detail, this and that of every gig... I may as well stop making music and developing ideas and become a booking agent. which is simply why im removed from all of it.

but, yeah, this was definatley a weird one, and of course, if anyones name is going to get dragged through the mud, its gunna be mine.

but yeah, to put an end to the better part of this nonsense...

i dont have a problem with what other artists are doing when theyre booked on the same night, all i care about is one thing... showing up, having a great time, and helping others have a great time. It's quite useless to get caught up with the politics some people present around what you want to do.... best bet, is just keeping my head up and having a great time.

Interesting. Well, good to hear this ridiculous decision didn't come from you. I apologize for thinking ill of you. It's always hard to separate fact from fiction in these kinda things.

You say this is "popular" because you know of ONE case ... do you have details of this one case, or are you talking shit like almost everyone else in this thread? I find it pathetic the way so many people have jumped on this because of one post on an internet forum.

deadmau5: I wouldn't worry about it one bit. The length and attention span of most of the sh*t stirrers as well as the readers of this type of stuff is really small. The internet moves at such a fast pace all will be forgotten in no time. People hate the 'diva effect' and I think that's what is coming across in all of the negativity. The fact you have no control over promoters and their policies just shows how fickle the whole thing can be. It's tough at the top ;)

Unbelievable bullshit ... the mob puts out it's torches and returns to the village.

Hey, I fully apologize. What was I supposed to think? I'm not omniscient.

You could have thought "this is unfounded gossip" instead of siding with the mob.
