That's why I apologized for earlier statements. I doubt deadmau5 cares dick about my opinion one way or the other.

Well i started this so i'll finish it...This and the other thread was in regard to a thread started in the Ableton forums about a gig.Now you have said your piece that's fair play to the Deadmau5..i'd change my management team if i were you coz they know Nada...i slated you on the grounds of that thread but will stick by what i said unlike some who change their opinions..if im wrong then im wrong but at least im saying i am....if i had a brown tongue then i'd probably be apologising but iv'e said what iv'e said and now youv'e made it clear about that gig fiasco then iv'e no problem....

Look, I'm in music business for more than 15 years now. I've done a lot of releases and also worked as a DJ. This DJ thing has become more and more important over the years. Nowadays a lot of people want to be DJs, even those whose are mainly producers. Some of them are trying to check out how far they can go. I'm not going to tell you any details but believe me, it's a common practice for some people.

Personally I believe deadmau5 is one of the good guys and he doesn't need to do such things. His skills are good enough to play a fair game.

I've been in "the business" as long as you have, and have worked with agents and promoters, released albums on various labels, and played live all over Europe. If you know this is common practice, I'll take your word for it. It's not something I've ever encountered ... maybe it's a DJ thing.

I said it's a common practice for SOME people. I'm talking about the cases where an international headliner is booked for a club or festival. Typically the organizer of such an event would accept nearly everything in a contract only to have this guy playing. And so do the local supporters. If one them disagrees, he will be easily replaced by one the hundreds of other DJs that would even sell their grandma just to play along with their hero.

You know every time I read his artist name, "Deadmau5" I always want to pronounce it "Dead-mauh-five" instead of "Deadmouse".

and what happened to vinyl??? sorry everyone, but real DJ's mix vinyl, NOT ableton live sets, or CD-R's, etc... if you know what's up, you know what i'm talking about.

Not true... I've used everything from turntables, to CDJs to my Macbook Pro for a decent amount of time and "real DJ's" are the ones that get booked at real clubs and are able to move with the times.

If you really feel this way then you shouldn't even be on this forum, you should be recording music on your 4-track.

hey rob, thanks for the comments, maybe it would be an idea if any follow up posts/comments made on other forums could be retracted to bring people up to speed that this was a miscommunication.

and that artist and agent had no problem with me using my setup in the first place.

If that's the case then what exactly are you? You have more than double the amount of posts that I do here on KVR. I also have music to show for, which is signed, as well as gigs @ real clubs (which I'm extremely grateful for).
