I'm looking for a new main 'go to' EQ. Up to now i'm using Live's default EQ8 but i feel it's not achieving the sound i'm after.

It's important that the EQ is easy to use, and with easy i mean i shouldn't have to struggle with tiny levers or knobs, visibility or other GUI related things. It should allow me to easily modify bandwidth, bands and gains. It should also have one window where everything is visible, no tabs or different pages. Finally, it should sound good ofcourse.

I know there are a lot of good EQ's but workflow is very important to me, it should be able to do anything, and yet be easy to use.

I hope you can give me some suggestions!

Reafir is the only EQ I ever use.

Oh man, there is tons of EQ Plugins on this site. You just gotta search for them.
Luckily, there is so many Simple EQs out there. And cheap too! The hardware EQs are really cheap! But for VSTs, you can find so many free ones.
Its time to experiment. Download all the EQs you can get. (I have allot a different EQs, just so I have a good selection.)

ddmf's IIEQ Pro. Since getting the Pro version, I've nearly stopped using all other EQs. I sometimes turn to Image Line's Parametric EQ 2, as I love it's frequency analyzer, although it might not meet your workflow requirements due to some small controls.

Voxengo Overtone GEQ. Free and great.

Mainly because I use FL Studio, but also because I bought the Juicepack specifically to use this EQ in Live, Image-Line's Parametric EQ 2

(it has a built in spectrograph thingy :D )

I tested a lot of EQ's and found Precision EQ to be very easy to use.

It has no "colouring" in sound but they offer the "Vintage EQ" as well, for more "warmth" and "character":

Demoversions are availiable :-)

Then two of the best choices you can ever go for in terms of parametric EQ:
- AIXcoustic ElectriQ poshifopid
- ddmf IIEQ (10 bands, individually switchable)

Best on it, both are free. GEQ from Voxengo is a graphical EQ btw and not as flexible.

I've been looking for a more robust track EQ too.. this one is really nice.. automatable.. and pay what you want! After I get the monitors next week, I'll try it some more.. but I think this is on my list. :D thanks for mentioning it!

Since I'm an FLStudio user I use the EQ2. It's easy to use, has a nice analyser and is soundwise up to EQs like Sonnox and PSP Neon.

For other sequencers I'd use the ddmf's IIEQ Pro.

thats locked to Digital Performer though ?? how is that helping anyone? unless you're suggesting they switch hosts to use the EQ :hihi:

another vote for IIEQ Pro. I don't use just one, because certain EQs work best for certain applications in my workflow so Vibe-EQ and the UAD Pultec Pro get called on a lot as well.
