The OP didn't phrase his request very carefully. The title is 'what is your goto EQ', in the beginning post he doesn't mention his platform and hopes we can give him suggestions.

I answered the thread title since the first post didn't make any logical sense to me.

It has no "colouring" in sound but they offer the "Vintage EQ" as well, for more "warmth" and "character":

Demoversions are availiable :-)
Thanks for mentioning us! We also just dropped the price of all these EQ's to a mere $20.

+1 to the KeyToSound EQ's. Straightforward, easy to use and very reasonably priced.

+1 almost no reason to just get the pack of all four if you want a couple of these. Very nice.

In No Particular Order & Also Should Mention The Fact That I Dont Reach For EQ Unless I Think It To Be Necessary:

NCL EQ Beta4 Version (A Good Track EQ By Matt Who Is Still Testing/Devolping It And There Is A Thread By Matt With Info And Downloads: I Have Been Using This In Live Alot)
Bootsy BootEQ (Needs No Introduction Here At All: It Just Sounds Very Good)
Brainwork bx Digital (All Mid/Side Jobs And Also Does De-Essing And Is Mint On 'Crap' Cymbals, It Sounds Very, Very Good As Well As Killing Upto Three Birds With One Stone!)
Sonalksis CQ1 (Not Sure It Counts As An EQ As It Incorperates Dynamics But Hey It Sounds Sweet And Can Do Things That Regular EQ's Cant)
Sonalksis DQ1 (Ditto The Above - Many Seem To Use KeyToSounds Dynamic EQ For The Same Sort Of Job From Many Threads I Have Checked Out)
Sonalkis SV-517Mk2 EQ (Great Track EQ)
Waves API, SSL or V-Series (Neve) Emulated EQ's (Depending On The Source)
Equim By Elemental Audio Systems/*RND
URS Classic Console Strip Pro (Again Which Model Depends On The Source)
AirEq By Eiosis (Was Eliosound Good On High Frequencys)
Elemental Audio Systems/*RND Firium Or Voxengo CurveEQ (For Reference & Very Rare Occasions I Use The Spectral Matching Function Thingy But End Up Redoing Most Of The 'Matches'!!? Because They Are Not Ever Totally Accurate But Very Handy Now And Then None The Less)
Digidesign Digirack EQ III (Great For Cuts & Low Pass Filtering Duty)
Digidesign Focusrite D2 Modelled On The 'Red Range 2 Dual EQ Designed By Rupert Neve' That Guy Is Everywhere :hihi: (Same As The Above But Boosting Occansionally And High Pass Filtering Sound Better On This Plug-In Than The EQ III To My Ears)

Flux Sound And Picture Development Epure EQ (Sound Good But Rather Expensive So Still Very Undecided On This Plug-In, A Friend Is Loving It So I Have Only Heard It At His Place, Not A Big Fan Of The GUI But That Is Important To Me For That Much Money!)

*RND - Roger Nichols Digital (Have Not/Did Not Upgrade When He Took Over Elemental Audio Systems, So I Can not/Am Not Reffering To RND Plug-Ins*
(Anybody Now Whether Its Worth Upgrading?)

It depends On The Audio Signal In Regards Of Which Of The Above I Will Use. So I Dont Have A Go To EQ :P
