That is a really cool EQ! Someone tipped me off to it, and I got to play around with it in the Juice Pack. Will pick it up, someday.

I still use TriTone Digital's Hydratone, Angeltone, Valvetone (and Colortone Pro) on every project. Also love the UAD 1073, 1081, 88RS, and Pultec Pro. The Nebula API and 1073 programs are great when you need something to sound special.

What does the Nebula 1073 do that the UAD 1073 doesn't ?jimbob wrote:I still use TriTone Digital's Hydratone, Angeltone, Valvetone (and Colortone Pro) on every project. Just asking since you have both.

ColorTone Free (cut down features) & PhaseTone (like voxengo PHA 979 rotation thing) is also free so in theory you canbduffy wrote:I wish I could use my TriTone stuff in every project!

It's not that: I own both Hydratone and Valvetone, but they're buggy as hell, take forever to load and use a lot of CPU. So no go.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:ColorTone Free (cut down features) & PhaseTone (like voxengo PHA 979 rotation thing) is also free so in theory you canbduffy wrote:I wish I could use my TriTone stuff in every project!

I especially like how easy it's to work with: right click on a dot, and you can swap the filter type / order, and then you just drag and mouse-wheel adjusts Q, so you can usually get stuff done in seconds. I rarely touch the controls on the right half of the interface at all, other than the overall gain control at times..

ahh that must be a real bitch!, sorry to hear that man. They sound f**king incredible, which makes it really heartbreaking. I don't understand how people were using them on several tracks in the old days, but maybe it's just my machine.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:ahh that must be a real bitch!, sorry to hear that man. I used to have problems using Tritone stuff on my old Athlon64+ but on my Q6600 I can run them on every track if I want to (even Angeltone). On my Athlon, one instance of Angeltone used 25% CPU. On the Q6600 it uses 3%. I don't have any stability issues with Tritone plugs on my current setup.
I haven't done a direct comparison of the Nebula 1073 to the UAD 1073. I always use the UAD since it's much easier to use and the Nebula version requires multiple instances to use more than one specific band. I have read that the UAD and Nebula 1073's are very similar. Maybe the Nebula program sounds a hair better, but the ease of use of the UAD makes it preferable, as long as you have the DSP power left to use the plugin. I often use the Nebula 1073 Color preamp program as the first insert on the stereo bus, though, since it sounds so great, and I use the Nebula API EQ (and premap program) often--it sounds amazing!

its not only over there, they are INDEED buggy as hell, at least under many Win environment...bduffy wrote: They sound f**king incredible, which makes it really heartbreaking. But it's just too buggy for now, and must be resigned to the temporary VST dustbin.
+1 for DDMF stuff anyway: cheap and kind to my cpu's cycles
Peace
