since it seems like we're on a roll for the 07 prizes and 08 will probably kick off soon, i thought i'd see what everyone was planning on doing

you don't have to give too much info but
i don't think anyone is gonna take anyone else's ideas because most of you like to be original anyway

I'm workin on a synth - pretty basic but can produce some dark and erie sounds.
think radiohead, and fun for knob twiddlers :)

what about you?

I havent had the time to do finish my cross-platform plugin like i said i would, but have done some interesting plugins with synthedit ..

Been making plugins for my own use, i would release one of them for the compo:

Lets just say a compressor thats not transparent! and can do some wacky stuff like pump in reverse  also, has a mix parameter so you can do parallel compression. I've been using it as a mastering compressor and its working quite well.

Then i've got an idea of a modulation-matrix type fx thats not finished, but it takes certain parameters, such as pitch, amplitude, compressed amplitude, lfo's etc. and can feed them to different fx parameters (bitcrusher, filters, amplitude, phase).

And something that i've put on the back-burner for a while but recently brought out, i emulated the alesis andromeda's oscillators so i've been refining that idea recently- each osc has its own analog drifting, sounds nice as the real thing :)

An improved method for tracking contestants and prize donors including asking that each team declare a spokesperson for dealing with prizes, to forestall the kind of confusion I've been slogging through this year. Sort of a "be kind to stupid skunks" feature.

Post

My concept so far is that seeing as I made something noisy last year, I'd try and make something not-noisy this year...

something... nice.

yeah, another freaking pad synth, whoopy-doo... :D

Post

yea that's the problem though,

you're supposed to come up with something creative and new, maybe experimental
BUT you're also supposed to make it appeal to a wide range of users

kind of hard to do i think

Post

hmm.. experimental yet appeal to a broad range of users..

Do i have to add a glitch fx to my synth?
or should i add an fsu to my compressor?

Still asked : a free Melodyne !
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Hey realistion: I was thinking you should make a plug-in out of that enhancer effects chain you described in the BBE Maximizer thread (that I gave you a hard time for... :scared: )! One of the best enhancers I've used!

Ok, it would be simple to do this, i'll have a go. With two options: phaser or chorus?

I was going to make a roland dimension d emulation as well

I thought about putting a phasor on a compressor, controlled by the compression envelope just to try and see what it sounds like.

I'm giving away all of my ideas now :x

Do it, man. You could be the next plugin guru! 8)

Yeah, I mean, what you described can be easily set up and saved as an effects preset, but hey: why not just make it into a self-contained plugin, and get accolades from all the 2-bus-mastering addicts? :hihi:

possible patent infringment?

I'm thinking about a synth to show off the best that SE 3rd Party developers have to offer. So think huge oscillators, incredibly flexible graphical envelopes and lots of modulation possibilities. On the GUI side, I've been inspired by Olga to do something different, although it is shaping up as a hybrid between the current look of my instruments and Olga's geometric layout. It might even have a similar two-size GUI if I can make that work without too much overhead.

It's an effect this time, but I might change my mind and use another project I have on hold. A.

Hi,

My ideas are clear only now, I must do some SE modules like a matrice and sequencer memory.
I waiting the 1.1 SE version and I must try SynthMaker but I don't know if I will have time to do all...

Oh no!?! When is DC supposed to be? I missed last year 'cos I realized there was this DC thing about 2 days before the deadline, and had no idea of what I might want to do.. and this year I've screwed, as I could have made Tila a DC plugin, but forgot the whole DC when I released it...

AARGH.. have to think of something new.. have to think of something new fast.. could extend 4L to a full compressor, or do a completely new type of compressor... but compressors are so damn boring.. urg.. maybe distortion? But those are so damn hard to tune to sound good... hmmh... I'm gonna panic... and probably miss the damn DC for a third year in a row!?!
