oh wait! and should i reply AMEN and bow too when a mod speaks? :P
following that line then, maybe i should quit smokin weed since some policemen told in the past to me that's its (OH MY GOSH) illegal!!!....yeah, RIGHT...

i think arguments can be sorted out even WITHOUT mods coming in, unless there are extreme cases..anyone free to disagree of course

How about some self-moderation for KVR members. Those who posted the MicroTerra link: Thanks! But it seems its illegal, so plz remove it again.

No more fuzz and ahead to more (legal) old gems.

(Edit: Corrected for very bad english, sorry)

What surprises me is that no moderators, who are usually quick to jump on that kind of things, have said anything about it so far... :?
Where was this 'told'? I asked if it was freeware and nobody said diddly squat! If I knew this then I would have never have touched it in the 1st place.

Not to get involved with personal disputes but at least to block the link to illegal and virusd files from those of us that are UNSUSPECTING.

Anyway, I'm happy to report that the comp that I installed it on showed no sign of infection. Thank god it was not my main daw comp wheww! For those of us that good duped, I'm glad to share that if you have a fully patched computer with SP3 IT WILL NOT TAKE. The virus itself is a very old variant so up to date comps are safe AFAICT. For 100% safety I reformatted that drive and reinstalled a ghosted backup anyway so I'm happy now.

Funny thing during my scans I did find 1 other infection from an official application that really surprised me!

Ah well guess it serves me right when downloading a free app NOT from the official vendor site :bang:.. Lesson learned!

Apologies for the earlier antics (I was mostly pissed off with the fact that my payware antivirus did not detect it)..

Ok continue...

eidenk wrote:Well whatever, what I mean is that MicroTerra should have no place in this thread because it is in fact warez, regardless of the fact it is infected or not.

If MicroTerra is Ok, then Tasman MTM or Tassman Keys should also be, as well as Zebralette and probably some others such as stuff found only in certain CM issues.

Does this make sense or not ?

Where are the friggin moderators ? Meffy ? Bluedad ?

:help:

 calm down fella! Pm a moderator if you want there attention....wow.

I did download it but deleted pretty quickly with all the drama around it. AVG finds no problema on my computer......what going on?

Post

OK, perhaps it was a mistake from my part... Perhaps it was not a good idea to speak about Microtera on my site (I did not speak of it here)... I never hosted and shared it anyway...
I do not mention it anymore on my site...

About viruses, I never got one from all the sites I mention...
So I think that some people here are a bit paranoiac...

Probably because one it is Magware and has long been discontinued. If It was say Zebra 2 were talking about here then there would for sure be a problem. And what are you trying to say that all Magazineware is infected with worms and trojans? That is what it sure sounds like?

I think if the mag that included Zebralette worked out a deal with Urs, for a PDF of the mag and a Zebealette download for $10 or $20, that enough would buy to make the details worthwhile, and as usual, some would jump for the full Zebra 2.2, as have ZebraCM users, on occasion.
Cheers :)

Just a question :
when you subscribe to CM now (it is not very easy to read for a bad english speaking man as I am, and this is the reason why i did not subscribe yet), do you receive all the software previously made for the mag or not ?
All the magazineware softs are available only for a short time, because they are sold out after one month or two...
For example, i own Zebra, but I should like to get Zebra CM, and other goodies that are not available anymore...
So, is it possible to get them after, when subscribing ? It is not clear (for me) on the CM site ...
Thanks

Hello Burnie, You are right you do not get all the past stuff from the covermount DVD's as far as i know. So i too just stick to the odd copy every year

ZebraCM is in the CM Studio, therefore it comes on the DVD every issue along with Dominator,WusikCM and a whole lot more. 8)

You know, there's a good reason for mags to "hire" developers to do some mag-version for them. It'll hopefully raise sales. A very valid reason, if you ask me.
And as far as these magazines not being available in your part of the world, that's simply untrue. I bet I could order *any* music magazine in *any* civilized part of this world more or less easily.
The only downside being that this will sometimes cost you a little fortune. Guess why I'm never buying CM or so - right, it's f***ing 19 Euros over here, something I simply don't want to justify for getting a few samples and readable content that isn't new to me at all. I do occasionally buy one CM mag, though, as they fortunately keep at least the software portion of their DVDs permanently, so you can skip a few issues and still get the stuff. The same is true for the german "Keyboards" (now "Sound & Recording") magazine, they keep releasing Podolski (an excellent small synth) and Zebralette (dito) on their CDs.

In any case, I've never been on the warez hunting police site of the fence, so I won't stress the illegal aspect of this any longer, it's just that sometimes it's worth to simply order an interesting mag from overseas. And it's really not that tough anymore.

I do however agree that magazines should offer online subscriptions, probably adding a little extra fee should you want to have access to all the past goodies.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.
