what type of copy protection are you using? please dont say sync/dongle...
It won't be a dongle.
will there be a demo version...downloadable...not 4 gigs like some have been recently....but usable enough to actually give the thing a good tryout?
Like all our previous products, we will indeed provide a downloadable demo.

Ben
good to know, on both parts...one more question...can you make and save presets in the demo that are usable/loadable in the full version?

look forward to the release and having a play around ;)

the video is really cool.... the best part was when Ben said "I'm gonna tell you a bit about alchemy" and then the video was over - hehe

but seriously... really great teaser

Glad you guys are liking the video 8)

Excepting a tiny bit of limiting in Logic, this is 100% Alchemy. It isn't an official demo (too long and rambling for that), just me getting inspired with an early beta.

Likewise, this is another experiment in Alchemy - this time, a single patch, just holding down middle C for a while. I wanted to see how far I could take the "one-note wonder" concept with Alchemy  Don't worry - there wont be any factory presets like this - as I say, it was just an experiment to see if an entire arrangement could be done in a single patch.

btw - the arrangement is semi-random, so it could go on for quite a long time before the exact same patterns repeat.

I am excited, even if I did not like additive synthesis at all in the past.

Shouldn't this thing really be called "Al-camel-y"? :P

Seriously, I'm looking forward to it. It sounds really interesting.

That could be a nickname, although I have been going by the nickname of 'ALC" :-) Hopefully better then "HAL" :-)

We've been working on it for the last four years, and it nearly killed me, but I can now finally unveil what's been keeping us all so busy. Check out detailed specs and mp3s here:

For those of you who can't be bothered to click here's some info. I hope you like it :)
Alchemy is the ultimate sample manipulation synthesizer. It's a synth powerhouse and yet is very easy to use thanks to its performance controls and remix pads. Just tweak the library of excellent presets from many of the world's top sound designers or dive in and analyse your own samples - it's up to you!

Alchemy features additive, spectral and granular synthesis and resynthesis, sampling, and a very capable virtual analog engine with unison and PWM. You can morph or crossfade between sources. You can import your own samples from SFZ, WAV or AIFF files. A wide range of analog modelled filters are included, in addition to a flexible rack of effects which includes all those from CamelPhat and CamelSpace as well as many new effects such as a high quality reverb. The innovative modulation system is extremely flexible, yet easy to use. Alchemy also features a powerful arpeggiator with the ability to import the groove from any MIDI file for immediate synchronization to a beat.

Alchemy ships with over 2GB of samples and analysed content from in-house designers Tim Conrardy and Biomechanoid, as well as designers such as Ian Boddy, Robert Rich, Scott Solida and Nucleus SoundLab. A library of 300 excellent presets from many of the world's top sound designers is included, arranged into categories for rapid access to the sound you require. A variety of expansion sound banks are in development.

Alchemy is priced at 249USD / 199EUR / 159GBP. It's because of the support of our loyal customers that we've been able to put in the time, effort and expense necessary to develop Alchemy. So Cameleon owners will be able to crossgrade for half price - just 125USD / 99EUR / 79 GBP. CamelSpace and CamelPhat owners will be eligble for a reduced price of 199USD / 159EUR / 127GBP.
