I thought that kinda stuff only happened to me!
Apparently not! :)

I'm tempted to order it from somewhere else just to get it here quicker.

I could loan you my DS_Xtreme but I fear you'd run into the same compatibility issues I did...

Still the offer is there mate :)

The Acekard 2 looks like it has most of the features of the CycloDS only you can pick it up a lot cheaper. No to fussed about the packaging either. Think I'll try that site with the Acekard 2 + 2GB SD card for £22.50 ..... in fact I'm going to order it now I think.
the

On the site i linked to the Acekard is about £5 less so cheaper but not much! If i see the card for similar anywhere else i'll post it here but it seems to be on avg around £30+ with the memory. The R4DS is a bit cheaper and from what i've read it is a good card but doesn't support sdhc...

... yet!

Thing with these cards is if the company doesnt disappear the development and support is usually good - perhaps more so with the companies who open-source their drivers...

Saying that i have NO experience with the R4

Hi,

while on this subject, I must say that I have an M3 real , and know about three other people using it. 0 problems for now. Auto-patch, loads of extra functions ( cheats, saved games, too bad I do not play with my DS ). If you can find one not too expensive, this is a very good option too.

oh, and for those who still hesitate, another link :

True! :)

I'm not fussed about that, i won't be using 32gb cards anytime soon! I think the R4 was a bit buggy at first but they fixed the issues with subsequent updates, what you say makes sense; as long as the company is still alive they can continue to inprove and add new features.

A lot of what of read in terms of features for each of the three cards is pretty much the same; clean roms, soft reset etc. The main difference i can see is the price as they all seem to reliable...

I know this is getting away from the DS-10 somewhat but homebrew is fairly cool :)

Again - just info Ive come across and Im not bashing any card EXCEPT the dsxtreme :hihi:

Apparently, some of the R4 cards out there are knockoffs - the same looking and functioning just that the manufacturer used the same process and made a bulk load of cards not licensed by R4 people... Ive heard its difficult to tell the differences and as such R4 will be releasing an update they claim will brick the knockoff cards...

Again, not knocking anything or anyone and this might be hype but something to be aware of none the less...

Now what about Japanese games with no worldwide release? Any good ones - besides the best game ever - Rhythm Tengoku Gold :hihi:

yeh, i think I got one of the knock-offs...

it doesn't work with R4 firmware but on the box there is a different website address that take you to a fake R4 website where you can download working firmware.

tbh, if I had bought it before I read up on this I would have been none the wiser. it works fine - loads anything I have out on it...

2 problems though - the DS doesn't always recognise it first time. sometimes i have to pull it out and put it back in and restart - and it takes approx 2 hours to download the firmware!

if it says www.r4sdhc.com on the box it's not a real R4

anyhow... here's a track I did on the train this morning :-)

Thanks vurt. Which memory did you get?

@ Dave i think i've come across a few fakes; £10 for and R4DS? I'm not having that!

Not sure about this one though Link :|

There doesn't seem to be much between the cards in the same price bracket, even the m3 is supposed to be identical to the R4DS, just a different logo ..

Another card i came across was 'the edge' and i just found it on amazon. Lot of good reviews and comes with either a 2 or 4gb. Price is good, cheaper than the acekard. Anyway ordered with the 2gb card which is just under £20 inc shipping. Link

Anyway, sorted. Sorry for hijacking the thread!

i use sandisk microsd.
just standard 2 gig micro cards.

anyone who has glitch may also want to grab switch audio, a converter for samples which does raw in batch files :D

I will. Hopefully i'll be putting up tracks as well. The interaction with the stylus is absolutely brilliant, must be a blast to make music with it. :)

I've been looking for other ways of manipulating sound for a while, was going to buy a ko but the ds does so much more. I love the touchscreen!
