Sure, I understand where you're coming from. Although from my point of view, I'd much prefer to have just a few very good, very playable sounds instead of 20 subpar sounds. As it is, the sounds I hear from C4.5 don't make me want to find out more. If instead I had heard one or two outstanding guitar patches that made me wanna play for hours I would be begging for more... Just a thought anyway.

Can't give away the Farm. But, it's safe to say that if you don't like anything about those sounds that you might not like the Sonik Capsules then. Those SHOULD give a taste of what those sounds are like at least in certain ranges and the recording quality of course which is tops. We use the best gear anyone could ask for in the studio... Neve, API, Avalon, Millenium... and incredible Neumann and AKG tube mics etc etc. great acoustic spaces and all of that GOOD stuff in order to be bring you guys a crisp beautiful sounding instrument.
However, each person's tastes are different and their budget too. If you want great drum sounds on or beyond the level of what else is out there then check this out: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=1837 Ocean Way Drums. Although there's no free 2.5 gigabyte drum kit to try out first but it sure has gotten some great reviews! It's not cheap either but you get your money's worth.

Ocean Way Drums sounds very nice indeed, but since I got the basics covered I don't think it would be reasonable for me to spend that kind of money on EXTRA drums
If I had to buy samples right now it would be something like Miroslav, but I think I'll be saving up for some hardware -- you know, actually saving time thanks to real knobs instead of wasting time with thousands of samples

Well, I finally got the download sorted and installed. Definitely a nice addition to C4, though I'm still trying to figure out how the sound/loop/patch browser is configured so that I can use it and add to it. The big surprise to me is the new (I think) internal instrument patches that have been created by a few recognizable kvr regulars using the internal synths and FX.
I've been going through the Halion instruments, but I'm not sure I'm actually accessing the NEW content. Is it all mixed together now in the HalionONE patch browser, or do I need to access a separate folder with the new SR instruments.
In particular, I was looking for that new Yamaha piano, but couldn't find anything other than some generically named piano patches.
Thanks
Cheers

You just can't make some Jokari's happy . It could never be good enough or free enough, it seems. I'm glad Steinberg are doing something more to try to keep their customers happy (ie. those who bought v4).

I've downloaded the software update but havent downloaded the additional content as of yet. I must say that I'm probably going to do so now to give it a shot. I think I've opened HalionOne probably once or twice (I don't use too many vstis in my work) and wasn't really all that impressed with what I found. You guys are pretty reputable so I'm willing to give it another shot.
Hell, it is free after all.
In other news, I got my copy of Cubase Studio 4 from a friend of mine that didn't like it and switched to Logic. He lent it to me for a few months and then I decided I would just rather buy it from him than having to go back to SX3 ( I like SX but I'd already written so many songs in 4.). I gotta say, I really like it after having used it for a while. There's a lot of haters out there when it comes to Cubase but the damn workflow is so perfect for me that I would have a really hard time working with another DAW.

Yes. Those are the same. It's called "OneSoundz Silver Edition". We are planning on a Gold Edition or something along those lines. It will be mostly based around our Sonik Capsules though which are already in HALion 3 format today on www.esoundz.com But if you want these sounds plus about 2 gigs of extras on top of that then keep your eyes open for our next HALion ONE library (that isn't freeGucky wrote:Hi Squids,
a question: I own the Yamaha KX 61 with the Xfactor sounds.
Are the new Cubase sounds the same as the Xfactor sounds?

that it is a good message.
When will the new Halion One library released?
Can I order it on the steinberg shop or is it the sonicreality shop?
