tconrardy, Oceaxe is amazing! Very Tangerine Dream.
OK, totally ignoring the rules of this thread, here's another of my "firsts".

Same studio and gear as Camouflage, and recorded just a month or two before Camo. No wah on this one but enjoy my shitty guitar playing (I had only been a shitty guitar player for about 8 months at this point, though really I'm not much better now
) And the violin is REAL, played by my highschool girlfriend Sarah (sigh). She actually tracked it on an earlier version of this song, then I moved the take onto this version (a trivial thing these days but not fun to do back in the days of tape! Had to make sure the new version was exactly in tune and in time with the original... and actually screwed it up a bit, though her part still fits well enough.) Everything else is me.
My JX-3P organ sound is pretty prominent here (in the "Pink Floyd part"
). As well as some nice floaty resonant stuff during the "quiet part". Oh and my JX3P "Fairlight" sound opens the song as well.
All the percussion, piano, flutey things and fretless bass are Korg M-1. Oh, actually there's an "electric piano" that's the 3P as well. I think. Anyway, doing my best to sound like Peter Gabriel (I'm even imitating Tony Levin's bass style
) I think I finally got that out of my system after this number.
You can also enjoy my high-singing.
I have a relatively deep speaking voice, so people often comment that they're suprised when they hear the pitch I sing at.

Yup.camsr wrote:AQ, did you write the lyrics for camoflauge? LOL that song is pretty cool!
Don't ask me what any of that means, but I think I was disappointed in someone.Camouflage (c) 1988, Admiral Quality wrote: I've seen you use a little camouflage
It helps you to hide from all the sabotage
Maybe you can't see 'em yourself, I do
I can see the somethin's, eating you (Ew!)
Put a needle in your eye put some bark in your soul
Never stopped to wonder why it got out of control
(Who, who is saying and a-who, who is saying?)
Is it he who breaks with hammer? Is it he who breaks with key?
You can show me your illusions, but you will never break through me
(Break through me, never never. Break though me, never never.)
You were aware but you must forget (Must forget)
You're heading there and you don't even know it yet
I do believe you're gonna fall (Ahhhhhhhhh!)
And you think it works out (Works out)
You think it works out (Works out)
But I know it doesn't work at all
I wanna know why you're so paranoid
Cuz whatcha don't know, you can't avoid
You say you're happy with yourself, OK
That's who matters anyway (Hey hey hey)
(Oooooooooh, oooooooooooooh)
(Is it he who breaks with hammer? Is it he who breaks with key?)
(You suffer paranoid delusions, through broken eyes you see)
You were aware but you must forget (Must forget)
You're heading there and you don't even know it yet
I do believe you're gonna fall (Ahhhhhhhhh!)

But I know it doesn't work at all
(repeat 2nd verse)

Okay, here it is. It's very Vangelis since I was listening to Soil Festivities at the time. I recorded it into my cassette recorder straight from the Korg Poly-800 outputs. This is my second take and done on the fly. I did this in 1984. I consider it a song because, well listen to it,...it kind of sounds like a song not just me playing around with a preset.
My first song and my first post of a song.

way to bring a thread from the dead (been linked from the recent 1st song one)
here's my first recorded song, but in it's 2008 remix (dumped the 4 tracks from the cassette and mixed them in logic
this mix has been pitched down 1,5 semitones as a 244 is NOT double the speed of normal tape, it 1.85x the speed so it sounded like that
here's the original embarassing mix with the even more embarassing guitar solo
another try 3 years later
i may have older songs but no digital recordings of them(maybe on cassetes in a file somewhere in the basement at my parent's)
