what the hell??? are you guys nuts??? daniel owes you guys nothing at all!! he was not discourteous or disrespectful at all, he gave us, what, 10 absoluteley stunning plugins, and you gave him ... nothing at all???? go get your stuff at sonalksis, then see what you have spent ... daniel works hard in his free time to give us highest possible quality plugins, asking for nothing in return, and you guys bash him for his fully entiteled reaction? heck, he could've stopped developing just for no reason at all, still we wouldn't have the right to complain at all!! actually we should have been down on our knees, thanking him for all the plugs he already made for us, taking what is there ... remember, we could make money with his stuff, which he gives away for free (if we don't it's our fault) ... you guys have no right whatsoever to set up any kind of expectations at all, he develops the stuff with no waranty in any way ...
daniels decision may be overdriven ... but that doesn't give you the right to judge in any way, as he's entiteled to do whatever he likes ... like it or not ... jeez, sometimes i think all freeware dev's should immediateley stopp releasing stuff, just so you see what you then got actually!! kvr got so disrespectful, taking everything for granted, even expectations are set in a way that, if i'd be a freeware developer, i'd immediatley would be turned off by such a grabby, disrespectful behaviour, not releasing anything at all!!
guys, because of freeware dev's like daniel you actually got a hand that feeded you (and that with the highest quality), and what are you doing? after daniel made an (for you) uncomftable decision, you fvck him??? is that what you get as a freeware developer nowadays???? if it's really caesars thump only one get's, just because he does what he's entirely entitled to, then that community isn't worth a cent ... grow up already!!!

Yeah, I don't understand why anyone releases anything for free nowadays. All you get is shit for it, it seems.
And really, there are some twats here.
By the way...Daniel - I use your plugins on occasion. I thank you for giving them to me for free. I think A) they're great plugins, and they generally help me make music, and B) you're very kind to donate them to me for free.
Just ignore the twats.
There will always be some in every walk of life.
I can't believe anyone would say that. I really don't. Support? For a freebie. Why? Used to be almost every single freebie was released with a little text file saying "released as is etc..." I thought simple common sense would dictate that if it's free, YOU DON"T GET ANY SUPPORT UNLESS THE DEV IS IDIOT ENOUGH TO OFFER IT TO THE TWATS WHO USE IT THEN MOAN ABOUT IT. Somebody release for free, and it gets twisted around that he owes us something? Seriously...go back and read what you posted and tell me you're not a twat.Daniel created something that he released to the public. Since his stuff is popular, one can at least ask for some sort of support. Else you shouldn't create anything that others can use, unless you clearly wrote down on the page "this stuff is as is, I made it as test, don't expect any support" - which isn't.

brok, kritikon - well said.
I think people expecting support for a free plugin are mentalists.
If it's free, use it or don't.
I am so bloody thankful for TLs Maximizer, I use it everyday, I don't care if it's VST2.4 or whatever, I don't care if it's VST0.01alpha. It works and it sounds bloody ace.
Kids what are so outraged by Daniel for not releasing his next creation immediately should tell their parents they want a pony, it'd help them take their mind off it.
PS Has the world ended yet?

Personally, I don't care. He's already released more than enough great plugins and there's just no point in panting or moaning about future releases.
But I agree: expecting support and (specific compatibility)updates is a little strange, as historically he doesn't really do that. Dumps the pearls and retreats to his Nordic cave.

No, he didn't release anything, unless you missed the TLs-3127-LEA awhile back. Do yourself a favour: put it out of your mind and just use what you got from him. Life will be easier.

Is that what happened?CaptainMARC wrote:Kids what are so outraged by Daniel for not releasing his next creation immediately...
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Got it. Daniel's free to do as he pleases. The rest of us? Not so much.brok landers wrote:daniels decision may be overdriven ... but that doesn't give you the right to judge in any way, as he's entiteled to do whatever he likes ... like it or not ...

Oh, people who release commercially get shit for it, too. So it's not really that "group" centered.kritikon wrote:Yeah, I don't understand why anyone releases anything for free nowadays. All you get is shit for it, it seems.
Dunno, for bugfixing maybe (if there need to be fixes)? I said it as "general thing" - if "I" (me personally) create something, I give support to a certain extend, even though I theoratically don't need to, but I do (was like that back in the coding days though, and I gave support with my Jamstix2 Preset Set for NS_KIT7). Guess I'm a little bit different in this section.kritikon wrote: I can't believe anyone would say that. I really don't. Support? For a freebie. Why?
You do have to admit, that newer hosts have troubles with elder plugins - which is not Daniels fault. But If I'd be Daniel, I'd think about doing a compatibility rerender. There enough users out there who'd appreciate that (myself included). Heck gimme a PayPal account so I can pay him a new box of noodles and/or a crate of beer.
I'm no twat, and I don't moan about it either. I was only saying that his overreaction was childish. But why do I even try to rationally discuss it?
So am I, and I think most commercial stuff compared to that limiter is crap. But I'd love to continue using it with Cubase Babya V5.xx.3 someday, too.CaptainMARC wrote: I am so bloody thankful for TLs Maximizer, I use it everyday, I don't care if it's VST2.4 or whatever, I don't care if it's VST0.01alpha. I mean, it's darn cool that a fan recompiled the MDA plugins - I never thought of ever be able to use them again.
My dead cat farted, I'd call that a sign for the end of the world.CaptainMARC wrote:PS Has the world ended yet?
Some folks just need to chill in here - seriously.
