HEY! Where'd everybody go?

I could've sworn Squids said there'd be some fun happening sometime around now...

So, where's my FUN!?

With all the back-to-work/back-to-school stuff going on, we could definitely use a little diversion...

Just sayin'

Yeah! I'm pumped for another group buy - got me a job after this long period of unemployment and need to find the perfect gift to myself :)

Post

Well, on the group buys I'm TELLING you it isn't worth doing unless we rally the troops. You guys MAKE the group buy. The usual suspects. We have some good ones we could do but it'd have to have the participation of our GB regulars with the possibility to top them all!

As for September Surprises go... let's see. We've got some. As some of you Reason users may have noticed we quietly released 18 new refills for Reason 4 exclusively on www.esoundz.com They'll be "officially" announced by Sonic Reality next week to the world and available on disc. But for now it's an early download exclusive for those "in the know". Over 1,000 Thor patches between them. Ultra Sonic Refills. We're also releasing Reason 4 versions of all of the 20 Sonic Refills too next week.

For Kontakt we have multitrack style kits from Studio ProFiles. If you don't have Kontakt and you like the Kontakt Player then you can get it with a player in a month or two just like Ocean Way Drums. All of the Studio ProFiles will work that way (and cheap or in some cases free upgrades from current Rex, Apple Loops and Wave multitracks if you get those from www.esoundz.com which are available now).

For SampleTank... we've got groove collections coming for download plus... well, yeah Studiophonik IS actually on the horizon but just not a September Surprise. There is something coming for Hip Hop specifically though. It's kind of like the SampleTank version of the Ultra Hip Hop refill bundle.

We have new R.A.W. Style Paks to be released possibly this month (probably). The titles (advanced info here) are:

Hard Rock Grooves
House Grooves
Reggae Grooves
Funk Drum Grooves
Modern Hip Hop 1 (which includes essentially a Dirty South 2)
Modern Hip Hop 2
Miami Club

and there might be a few others.

Plus, we may announce a few things that are imminent releases so stick around and you might see some Sonic September Special Surprises from Squids! SSSSSS. :D

Oh yeah and OmniSoundz 2 is almost ready.

See? I just KNEW you had my fun somewhere around here...

I think it's safe to say you can count on us to pump up the GBs. Though some of us vets have been bumping up against the problem that we already own a lot of these deals. But we're still there cheering.

One last thing. I thought I saw somewhere that you were hinting about some downloadable packs for the Drum/Kitcore platform. Anything there?

Cheers

Any news about the organ-collection for ST? One major drawback with (all?) the organs in ST and SS is the leslie. The leslie-effect in ST2 isn't that good, which leaves me with using the great-sounding samples of fast and slow leslie. I just wish there was a way to move seamlessly from one to the other (acceleration...).

I am in the process of sampling more organs now. Hunting down various rare models... not easy. But I've found some real gems! We did a thorough sampling of Rob Thomas's B3 which was the same one used on "Born To Be Wild" and a lot of other classics. Sounded amazing. We sampled it direct and Leslie at the same time too! That'll be a while before it is released though. Hopefully soon though because I really want to play it!

I picked up an old tube Hammond Chord organ. Unbelievable!!!!! I LOVE this thing. It's beautiful. I'll post some pics.

Would it be possible to download the refills within the UltraRefills individually????!!!!

For example: The Hip Hop and Electronic Refills. The ONLY thing that I would use in those two refills would be the Instruments Combis and NNXT) and Thor Refills. I have ZERO need for the rexfiles or construction kits, which is like at least 80% of the refills. Would I still have to pay for $150 of a product that I'm only need/using 20% of????!!!!! :help:

+1 on the organ collection idea. You can count on me to spread the word for any GB's, so let's get something going! Some more Brass sounds for ST would be nice, too.

Sounds like a lot of cool stuff coming down the pike, Squids.

Just another quick thanks and kudos for the Rare and Vintage instruments GB. I REALLY am enjoying the stuff we got in that one. I've enjoyed all of the GB's, of course, but that one was really special, to me. Thanks again for the Bonus Brass sound, and Floydish vocals. 8)

Yeah we might do that. But they'd cost more individually than as a bundle... but less if you don't need them all. Good to have the option I agree.

Well, sign me up for a complete Hammond organ sample library group buy (especially if it includes that transistor model used by you know who)!

Keep up the good work Squids, I one for, feel that you are our friend as well as "supplier".

Thanks,

Whatever happened to the Ultra Loaded bundle. I bypassed the Sonic Gold special offer when I heard about your planned bundle. Is that still on?

Yes. 38 refills. Crazy huh? You can even order it now technically but it will be up for sale (download only) next week. On disc it will be a little later in the month.

By the way, I had to edit what I said before about a specific group buy for now. It's unconfirmed and since it isn't just SR involved it has to go through some red tape (no pun intended). So, we'll see. But, if not that we can do some kind of group buy this month as long as we have all of our friends involved.

Maybe so. A few things have to be worked out is all. Sigh. Whoever said the sound business was easy? It ain'ts.

But, still plenty of September Surprises. This one is on hold for the moment. We'll see what happens.
