Hey Bootsie, I got a suggestion:
You know how on NastyLF, the frequencies are fixed? I think it would be a nice touch if you could just click on the frequency number, and the dial would jump to that position. A little easier on the mouse wrist. You could even do that with the other plugins - jump to the next incriment of 10 by clicking, and drag if you want to go between, kind of like the Waves API/JJP plugins.
Just an idea.

Is that kinda standard? I just know many users just prefer up/down dragging...bduffy wrote:Hey Bootsie, I got a suggestion:

Howdy,
in summer 2007 I've started my first developments for the "bootsy" VST Plug-Ins series and in autumn that year there was my very first Plug-In release called "Rescue".
To celebrate this I'm going to release this month (September 2008) the black face "Anniversary Edition" of my very first Plug-In:

This black face edition called "RescueAE" is completely reworked and features 4x Oversampling and a fancy output stage limiter.
In addition there will be the release this month of the already announced NastyVSD - a "Virtual Summing Devcice":
"NastyVSD" is a kind of "virtual summing device" and features some of the effects while going outboard (out of the DAW) and receiving a summed stereo mix back into the DAW. When doing this, "safety limiting" or even AD clipping is performed, so this is included in this emulation as well. When driven hard (aka abused), this could be used for maximising purposes as well.

Not nasty enough, there will also appear "NastyCS" this month - the (so demanded!) Channelstrip unifying the 'Nasty' series. It actually features some cool EQ/filtering as well as limiting and saturation out of the 'Nasty' series. It features the very best 'nasty' things and additionally limiting, 4x oversampling and the BootEQ mid-filter (which is precisely (curve and phase) modelled after a 1081 re-issue) as well. It is going to feature a modern interpretation of the pultec-style boost/cut action in the low frequency area as well as a neve-ish HF boost.

stay tuned this month!

That looks great! Will it work at more than 44.1khz? I still use BootEQ all the time for quick adjustments.bootsie wrote:Not nasty enough, there will also appear "NastyCS" this month - the (so demanded!) Channelstrip unifying the 'Nasty' series. Bootsie what bduffy suggested: its not standard but most of the URS and Waves classic series/collection Emulations Work in this manner (dual concentric pots mainly ala API 550 EQ & 2500 Stereo Bus Compressor), and your very nasty but extremely nice GUI's although not emulations as such would lean towards that sort of behaviour (just a thought of course) and looking forward to the upcoming releases. Thank you kind sir
Dean
Edit: Bootsie the 1073 mid-filter being a perfect example of click to choose frequency (lower half) and then regular for the cut and boost (top half)
for what im saying and bd is talking about aswell as the Nasty HF/LF plug-ins. Obviously this only works well with stepped controls (fixed frequencies in this case). Take care man

Bootsie, you're working on many exciting projects, man !
I thought i had enough eq in my pugin folder, but you made me expect an immediate release of your NAsty CS !
I am also looking forward the new version of REscue, as i use it and like it. It is simple, efficient and versatile.
But, if i dare : could i ask for an update which woudl keep the usual skin ? I really like the original skin
And +1 for a website or a blog with all your plugggggies
