Wow Bootsie!

Man, I'm a fan of Rescue, just used it last week again while mastering 2 CDs. Looking forward to all your upcoming cool stuff. Love the GUIs, as usual!
Thanx a lot for your great plugins.

It actually features some cool EQ/filtering as well as limiting and saturation out of the 'Nasty' series. It features the very best 'nasty' things and additionally limiting, 4x oversampling and the BootEQ mid-filter (which is precisely (curve and phase) modelled after a 1081 re-issue) as well. It is going to feature a modern interpretation of the pultec-style boost/cut action in the low frequency area as well as a neve-ish HF boost.

Hi Bootsie,
that sounds like a winning combination if there ever was one !
I often use that exact combination on the UAD ... ideal for guitars, vocals ...
Please invest some genius on the handling of the concentric pots though  , the UA version is not good to handle imho.
Thanks for all the wonderful plugs, they are top notch for sure !
Cheers,

I want to write a song for bootsie! :D

Bootsie,

This is really stupid and minute but looking at the GUI for NastyCS, I believe it should read "HF Shelf." Shelves would be the plaural unless one were to use the participle of shelving. I think...

susi, do you mean in the way bduffy mentioned and i waxed on about? (i never used any uad plug-ins apart from a friend's Roland Dimenion D plug-in coz that and TAL Chorus-60 plug-in is as far as i go with modulation! but i may invest in a card since all the good reports on kvr ;) )

Dean :D

Hi Dean,
somewhere I read you'd rather leave modulation to Eddie  , fair enough !
As for EQs and comps, I'm a firm believer in FX that are somehow limited in features but sound ace for certain jobs. That's what UA delivers in very high quality, SSL does and Bootsie and Daniel do, too.
It may sound foolish, but those limitations can be used to your advantage in many situations, ymmv.
Kinda like using a Marshall for distorted tones, a Twin for squeaky clean and a Bassman for that swampy crunch - beats using one do-it-all amp by a mile in my book (in the studio).
Bootsie's planned EQ layout just combines the best of some classic designs I've grown to love on the UAD:
-- the separate cut and boost of the Pultec in the bass
-- the flexible mid band(s) of the 1081
-- the brilliant and musical high shelf of the 1073
So, Bootsie, more power to you, and Dean, try to get a chance to actually work with a UAD (used ones are rather affordable atm, though you certainly risk to get hooked and shell out more money for the better plugs and maybe more DSP in the future, the stock plugs (exception Pultec) are good but not too special, the real magic is in the additional stuff imho). UA will gladly reset the demos for a used card on request so you can test the stuff in your own mixes for 14 days each.
Cheers,
susiwong
