Alchemy will get my money for sure, I like the sounds and the specs. Omnisphere didn't even excite me at all.
Different strokes...but I am glad Camel Audio made Alchemy, I am quite certain someone will be glad Omnisphere was made, and there will be someone who is glad both were made...My vote goes to Alchemy because I will buy it, and I won't be buying Omnisphere. So no shame in my vote.

I was expecting $150.
To be honest...for those who just bought Atmosphere is that really a good deal? Ya could have just waited to buy Omnisphere itself I guess.
So I assume it's safe to buy NOW??????

It's strange really because it is actually cheaper to buy Omni for £250 inc Vat here in the UK direct even with shipping added.neverfall wrote:

It can be bought for £250 /$448 USD from Gear for Music (site is down for now)
Atmosphere (if you can find it) costs about £150 /$270 (UK)
So if you add...
Atmos (new) £150/$270 inc VAT
+ the £110/$199 2008 Grace period upgrade
+ at least £10 for shipping
+ about £15 + for the VAT on the Omni upgrade
= £285 give or take a fiver or tenner.
Gear for Music sell Omni for 249 inc VAT so really the Grace period upgrade price is just not there for UK or European customers. It might be better in Euros (don't know). But in pounds it's better to get Omni direct for £249 inc VAT from Gear for music (site is down for now)
I was hoping to get some kind of discount on Omni but the grace period deal really favours US buyers AFAICT.

Sorry to hear this. Yeah I don't really get the entire pricing structure, but if you want it badly enough.....
I just paid for mine. I'm a cheap bastard though. I got it with UPS Ground delivery. Guess I won't have my hands on Omnisphere until 5-7 days.
Then there's that "Please allow up to 48 hours for processing...."

I'm glad I waited... looks like I will buy direct in a few months or so and not buy Atmosphere to give me the VIP upgrade price....we always seem to pay more in UK for gearchristianmusicmaker wrote:It's strange really because it is actually cheaper to buy Omni for £250 inc Vat here in the UK direct even with shipping added.neverfall wrote:

You guys aren't serious right ? I mean, I bought Atmosphere earlier this year and it's a great plugin. I now get to buy the next great plugin - A completely new product that happens to contain the Atmosphere core sounds - for half price.....
And yet you want it cheaper, or complain the UK is a rip-off ?
Atmosphere isn't designed as a cheap way to get Omnisphere - it's a VST in it's own right. If you don't own it and want Omnisphere, just pony up the asking price, or get it for the same price but with another VST bundled in.
If you want it cheaper still - go write it yourself

Dunno about your world, but in mine that site clearly shows £299:-christianmusicmaker wrote:Gear for Music sell Omni for 249 inc VAT

Perhaps you are looking at the Pre-VAT price (there's about £44 VAT.
In any case, unless you are buying for a business and can claim the VAT back, it seems to be basically £299 in the UK.

No it was definitely inc VAT. But maybe an error on their part.beej wrote:Yeah - maybe it was a mistake then, or a pre-order estimated price..?
Nearly ordered it last week, I am glad I did not, now that Alchemy has been announced. I think I'll get that instead soon after it is released. Alchemy is almost £150 cheaper than Omni, with groove sync and just as many sound manipulation possibilities AFAICT, in it's own way (more than I would personally need).
FWIW...I will consider Omni at some point in future if need be. Both of them are top draw plugs anyway from highly creative devs. Probably need one and want both...
