I want to have button in mixer strip which can bypass all insert plugins in the chain, please... sorry if this function was requested before

It was, but it doesn't hurt to ask again :)

well ... I guess it's been mentioned before: beatslice samples to drumtrack

otherwise: re-introduce the beat slicer in the synthesizer
I don't like the fact, that there is a set of presets present in the synth's main view. it might be more straightforward to have a combo/list box were you can select banks, containing those presets. there should be a dedicated fxb/fxp folder for the synth and programs can be dropped onto it. given that, there should be two ways:
1. dropping a program into a "slot" of the synth's main page, and
2. dropping a program onto the zones -> you can easily layer you own sounds or create your own "multisamples"/key switched. that would be sweet!

well, same goes for programs of bank where you either can choose one on the main page, or assign it to a new zone.

That + including pitch automation in the drum track would make me a happy junglist.

I guess ideally you'd have the option when doing the sample->slice->drum track to give you a drum clip with the relative positions of the notes (there's a term for this which I can't remember - but you could essentially do it with the XT1.4 slicer iirc), although that's moon on a stick time.
It's a rave, Lewis!

yep. I currently work on a offline beatslicer that can generate sfz files for wave samples. sfz is a text-based file format by rgcaudio/cakewalk and has the ability to define regions for a single wave or ogg audio file. those regions are measured in samples where you have a start and an end position. this pretty much resembles the way the old ext sampler handles with beat sliced samples.
thus, it's a non-destructive, transparent way of assigning slices to midi notes.
I also would be glad if there's some cross-fading or fade in/out for slices respectivly to avoid clicks :)
the code is there already (ext1 sampler) and I hope Jorgen will implement at some time. however, from my latest experiences of developing cross platform applications/plugin I know that this is really really time consuming and take a lot of effort to establish bug-free versions for all platforms.

and yeah ... I'm still hoping for destructive midi functions in the parts editor and non-destructive midi effect support for tracks - with a built-in midi effects chainer module like there's already one for ext2's own audio effects :)

me once again. also, I might add feature requests that have been aroused before. sorry guys ;)

I seriously like to see some resemblance to the racks in tracktion. these are micro modular views for effect chains in this program and would fit in nicely to the modular concept of energy xt. especially for newly built-in effects. whereas a new effect component is named by the first effect added (for example reverb) it might be useful to simply call it "Multi Effect" (as the component is called already ...). at the moment, those components do not appear in the modular view, which imo copies the lackluster combination of modular and sequencer view from xt1. I guess one of the reasons to rewrite the old version was that the coherence of modular and sequencer view in xt1 was quite low. at this point, I have the feeling, that the same mistake is repeated. there are still no fx chains in modular view when you add fx to the insert or send mixer strips.
regarding a proper and tidy workplace ie modular view, it might be useful to stack effects for each audio out into "fx chains" that can be accessed in modular view. a double click on such would open a mini modular view to the effects. you then might be able to do some more elaborated wiring of components if you want to. and finally, if Jorgen adds a matrix, you could do some seriously cool things with your effects.

it might look like the following (not an exact copy of the modular view but you can get the idea):

however, in this regard it might be questioned if there's the multi effect component is still needed as a container, hence there is one already.
this brings me to a further issue I'd like to add: building your effect chains using low level components. once you have a container for insert effects, it makes sense to save this for later use. also, using energy xt's built-in effects plus some "other" low level effects you can achieve a wide range of custom effect types with no hassle. still, since it's hidden in container, users are not directly confronted with issues like custom wiring if they don't want to.
however, the container concept for inserts can be extended in the future, allowing JS or nyquist scripting of effects. needless to say: handle with care! but no worries, it's "hidden" to the average user :) and for those who want more, there you go.
in the meantime, what would be cool as well if Jorgen could "open" his multi effect component so that interested users and/or developers can produce further effects for it. but I guess the effects are "hard-coded" into energy-xt which could make it difficult to add some. still it would be nice to program some custom effects and incorporate those into the multi effect, eg through a "register custom multi effect plugin" menu :)

last but not least: I've only discussed insert effects so far ... send effects are a different story since they are "global" effects. therefore, a representation in the modular view might be difficult. but similar concepts may apply to sends as well. how can we show sends in modular view?
it has been discussed to add volume sensitive audio wires before.
example from aodix:

maybe this concepts could be used to trigger send levels as well in modular view. like a menu options that says "show send levels only" where you have all other wiring "greyed out" or replaced with the send levels. of course you have a separate wire for each send (-container) effect where you can adjust its send level. in the before mentioned insert containers wire might be used to leverage the wet level / dry-wet-mix.

I think that's it for the moment. sorry guys, too much to read. maybe someone can add to my ideas, or state a concept in few words. anyway, what do you guys think? jorgen, what do you think? ;)[/img]

my few thoughts...

1. ability to change order of the eq, insterts, sends and faders on a channel strip

2. abilty to send a "send" to another "send" (i know it sounds messy ;)
example: we have 2 sends: 1st "reverb", 2nd "fx" and we want to send a sound to "reverb" and "fx" sends but also we want to send "fx" send to "reverb" send

3. drumsampler multi-out!

4. why sc4 ladspatovst doesn't support sidechaining in xt2? if it's because of xt2 please fix that!

5. sidechaining for built in compressor would be nice too ;)

6. automation of multieffect!

7. automation in synth!

8. adsr env for drumsampler!!!!!!!!!!

and last but not least...

9. this note preview in piano roll is a must :)

So, this implies that we do have some sort of loop recording, right ? How do I activate loop recording ?

Sorry, could not find such info in the manual.

no kernel panics with my crap m-audio card. :(

Shortcuts:

Please, could we have a keyboard shortcut to access the menu ?
'Alt+F' should work this way, it is pretty much standard.

Thank you.

I want the groove channel back, pls :D

Also, I think it would be cool to be able to drag a rex file to a drum track, and have all the slices turn into drum track bits (sounds, parts, whatever you might call the individual samples on a drum track.)

cool? i sure think so.

A full support for Behringer BCR-2000 would be great. If XT would send the plugin-data back to the bcr, you could view parameter-settings instantly and change them more comfortably.

cheers!
