IK multimedia locking up at gigs. help for the love of god.

I just bought an IK MULTIMEDIA Receptor and have been having huge problems with it.
I love the sounds and the flexibility, but so far it has been much less stable than my G4 laptop.
Originally I had one instance of sample tank running samples from sample tron and miroslav philharmonik. But lately Sample tank has started inserting very high frequency squelches in with notes every couple of notes when I am playing sounds on it not specifically in the sampletank folder. To work around this I simply instantiated one sample tron and one miroslav on channels one and two and then run the sounds individually.
I have been unsuccessful at importing .wav or .aiff files that the IK support team said would be no problem at importing, so to work around THAT issue I downloaded the free plugin sfz to play the sample I needed in a soundfont format.
I have heard people say that the receptor is stable and awesome, but so far I have had it lock up twice in one gig, once minutes before an NPR recording, and I have had to pull it out of the rack and open it up for tightening of connections due to a separate(perhaps unrelated) "No boot disk" error message.
Anyone else have an IK lemon?
I leave for five weeks of U.S. tour today, and my spidey senses are on fire.
HELP!
P.S.- I am triggering it with a Nord stage midi and a microkorg Midi->usb, and the CPU usage is stable at 1/5 and never goes above 1/2.

I bought sample tank while waiting for the Komplete stuff to get sorted out, and I learned the ONLY way to do file imports is on a computer that's running sample tank, then do the conversion, and copy the 3 proprietary IK files that process creates to the receptor. Of course the version I had on my Mac was newer than the version that Muse supported, so I ran into other issues that crashed ST and/or Receptor, so I gave up and stuck to using the library that came with it.
Hopefully with the more 'official' support, the versions between Receptor and computer versions are in sync, and you can at least work that way.

Try bringing the samplerate down to 44khz, and make sure your buffer is greater than 64 kbytes...okkervilriver wrote:But lately Sample tank has started inserting very high frequency squelches in with notes every couple of notes when I am playing sounds on it not specifically in the sampletank folder. I must admit that I don't even use the IK stuff that much other than an occasional patch. It did seem like the IK instruments were not very efficient on the Receptor, especially when multiple instruments were loaded. Remember that the IK Receptor is actually the low-end in performance too (1.8 ghz cpu)...the IK stuff performs fine on my PC (which is a 2.8 ghz dual core).
One last thing: the Receptor 'Z' load feature (I believe that is what it is called) buffers a lot of stuff for faster loading. It states in the manual that there may be some audio left over in the buffers when you switch patches, and that you might get an occasional glitch (or something to that effect). You can turn off Z-loading in the setup to test.

I had a bad hard drive. The power pins on the back of it were defective causing HD to lose power during operation and lock up the receptor.
Zload has been disabled for some time. I know the limitations of the lower processor speed, and I'm fine with only being able to load a few instances of the cpu gobbling IK stuff, but hopefully the stability issues were just due to the HD. I'll follow up.
Muse overnighted me a new HD, and saved my ass.

We are aware of the following problem and working on an update. The very high notes happen if you open None SampleTank samples in SampleTank. Example: Opening Miroslav Philharmonik samples in SampleTank. Workround is to open Miroslav Philharmonik in Miroslav Philharmonik.
