i was going to try implementing the last example of your gui that you posted, do you have a newer one?
if not i'll use this one that i have:

pleae stretch it to 800x600 if possible to make it usable on umpcss.

D-Fusion, thanks for noticing the text bug. Changing the background colors are very simple and it's ridiculously fast to do so, the text take more time since the skin is not ready yet.

much better and cleaner/clearer than the previous one u posted...but why have half gui space wasted on some cream plastic panel?Limeflavour wrote:I also like gsoto's gui design, a bit dark for my personal taste but indeed very nice.
aciddose, I'm sorry if you put much time in inplementing my mockup. I will not continue that version but has almost put together another version based on a slighlty different design. It's built with multiple pages, like the default Xhip skin.
Anyway small sneakpreview is here (eyecandy included): http://stashbox.org/226250/mockup_cream.png
i would crop the cream off and basically just have the 2d sliders tabbed gui....same as gstos basically but tabbed.

handheld touchscreen pcs and netbooks are becoming incresingly popular.
when designing guis keep in mind the design needs to be scalable on different screen sizes.(should be readable even on a 7")
for this reason alone i prefer a tabbed gui rather than a huge 1 page gui with tiny controls

If I crop out the "cream" the skin will be too small and compact for my taste, gsoto already made a theme like that and from what I can tell (by reading) aciddose is trying to implement it.why have half gui space wasted on some cream plastic panel?

I can cut away a few pixels at the bottom if the size is too big (720x528px)
but will not remove the "wasted" spaces in the top part.
Also, aciddose don't know about this mockup yet. It's up to him if he want's it or not when finished, I'll gladly give away my sources though.
Edit: On second thought, what's the maximum pixelsize on a 7" screen?

ther is a lot of empty space on that gui, not too practical.D-Fusion wrote:ThanksLimeflavour wrote:D-Fusion, thanks for noticing the text bug. Changing the background colors are very simple and it's ridiculously fast to do so, the text take more time since the skin is not ready yet.

1024 x 600 max resolution.Limeflavour wrote:

not sure pixelsize....but your gui is perfetcly readable. those sliders i would say are a fine size for use on umpc and touchscreen/stylo action....gstos are a bit too small (although stretched at 800x600 they are ok))
too bad half screen is wasted on a 3d plastic panel that serves no purpose....i'd rather have a view of the sequncer and automation.
obviously on a 24" u can afford to waste space....but trust me when u'll be composin music on your mobile device in a few years u will not want any wasted space.

I'll try to get rid of as much space as I can, but as I said I won't remove the whole cream colored panel.
