So you had to sell a Mercedes for them, but not your Ferrari???
Yeah, but I was gonna get rid of the Benz anyway, I spilt BBQ sauce on the back seat when I tried to f**k my supermodel mistress and eat a half rack of ribs at the same time. :hihi:

Seriously though, I've been recording bands as a hobby for a while now and the returns are now actually exceeding what I spend on gear. I think the moment I realized that was one of the happiest moments of my life... next to the wedding day and such. :)

did a massive reconfig on my synth, selling off about a third of it, building my own wooden enclosure (the old rolling racks I had SUCKED) and rehousing the rest....

That is just gorgeous! Congrats, you must be a very proud daddy :) I checked out the progression over at your forum. It must be much easier to work this way with all the racks off the ground.
How much, ya' reckon that thing weighs? What's holding it up?

Yeah, it's a micro modular. Probably the same desk too ... didn't know it was Ikea. It was given to me. I cut the side rails down to the height that suited my setup. :)

thanks!! it weighs a ton. I have no idea... maybe 50lbs for each of the three towers? 150total. just a guess, but they are HEAVY

they are standing on a very sturdy table.

Man, that is looking really nice.

thanks! it's actually just about all frac-rack stuff. The two silver units in the upper-right are eurorack, the rest is all frac.

Looking good. Did you do anything different with the Metasonix stuff?

I should really take some pictures of my studio... if I ever get around to cleaning up first.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

nope, they are still in the SKB popup suitcase thingy, it's perfect for 'em

the 2 racks of Euro you see in the pic are eventually going to end up in a 12U tourcase thingy once I fill up the rest of my 4 euroracks, then the rest of the wooden-stands-on-the-table setup will be filled with frac (four more frames waiting to be filled)

what i'm mostly excited about however is the Wiard 300 Series system I ordered a few months ago. Expected delivery is "hopefully before Christmas" and to be honest I don't know how much I will use the rest of my modular stuff once that arrives. There's a handful that I know will augment the 300 well, but I may end up doing a big sell-off on a lot of stuff. That stuff keeps its value well though, so no worries. quite a few actually go up in value.

To Sir Muff Wiggler:

I WANT TO HEAR A DEMO CLIP OF THE SPACE SHUTTLE SYNTH NOW!! :D

...please

Post

ok

this is old and I have crap d/a conveters but hey it's all space shuttle synth :hyper:

i kinda stick to 'bug music' to be honest

here you go

and this was just f**king around the other night, just making some noise

more

it's all realtime output, single channel mono coming out of the synth, and no sequencing or playing or anything like that, just manipulating voltages

a little too much filter wailing in the last one but hey. and please feel free to skip to the last minute, everything leading up to there is crap

Post

in defense of bug music:

i could easily patch up the biggest, buzziest, gnarliest supersaw ever. but I don't really find much interest in that.
