Omnisphere demos

One of the first things I did after install last night was get into the core library to make my own patches. Don't worry - Omnisphere can crush submarines with its depth. I spent four hours making "kitchen sink" patches and felt as though I never left the kiddie pool. It'll be a very long time before I'll be able to say I've explored everything Omnisphere is capable of.

EDIT: By the way...one thing Omnisphere could use is "intelligent patch generation/randomization/blending", ala energyXT's abilities with SynthEdit synths, VirSyn, and Camel Audio. And really, that's a general gripe I have with all "proprietary" synth platforms, e.g., ones that don't expose the parameter layers to things like energyXT. I've been a "randomizer" since the days of Dr. T's, K1 Lib, MIDI Quest, etc. - since the DOS interface days. I have always found a lot of magic that way. Just sayin'

...but honestly, and though they are some very nice countermelodies and rythhmic phrases i'd be much more interested to hear a more elaborate composition, than this BOOM-BOOM beat, i'm persuaded this beast deserves better kind of tunes as a real demonstration of it's possibilities

were any FX used outside of omni? Like side chain compression or delays?

Show me some manipulation of your samples. The thing I'm really interested in is: you have a cool sample library on board, but can I tweak it, or am I basically stuck with the samples, the way I am with Trilogy. (Not to say anything bad about Trilogy, I still use it frequently, but it's basically a rompler.)

.. but I think that happens everytime you want to satisfy everyone.

The song is really well done though. Omnisphere is looking really powerful.

Its STEAM Engine™ also excels at high definition sample streaming - the realtime manipulation features like Granular Synthesis, Harmonia, Timbre Shifting and Polyphonic Ring Modulation can also be applied to the sample oscillators.

Sounds cool. I'm looking forward to demos of that aspect.

I agree, this isn't my favorite style to listen to, but it's very well done, and shows a little bit of what the synth oscillators can do. I have no doubt that over the next few weeks, we'll hear a lot more demos, both from Spectrasonics and customers. Looking forward to it.

Besides this being an unbelievable taste of what Omni can do - I wonder if Spectra would be open to show us any video clipage of how a demo like this is put together? What host? What fx? How many tracks? So many questions....

While highly unlikely - a short series of vids outlining the basics on using Omni to Prep, Record and Mix to arrive at a one minute demo - would go a long way to let us beginners really see how to use this incredible tool in a real composition situation - if only to see how Eric or his crew actually use common host software to get results.

Sorry - the emperor has no clothes. I don't understand what is so amazing. Noise bursts, bleeps. techno-beat. That's it. I certainly hope this isn't the extent of what Omni can do... I was hoping for more to look forward to, to make me want to shell out the 5 bills.... This track does not make me feel that way...
