Hi Peter:

FIRST OFF: THANK YOU! :D It's a wonderous thing this RMV. :)

I'm uncretain as to whether this is a bug or not! Trying to set up choke groups, and clicking on and dragging across the G button produces no response at all.

This may just be me being overenthusiastic  - I'm reading the manual, learning as I tinker with.

But no amount of clicking or dragging sdoes antyhing at all, and I can't pull up the choke groups menu.

Hi, Peter, I'm so sorry I have to ask this in bug report section, but why "add to cart" option isn't active for RMV? Did you release the product, or you still have some bugs to fix?

Post

I feel strange to post this in a bug report thread but my 'slow boot' problems seemed to disappeare. Don't know if you did something on the dll, the libraries or the installers or it was due to the uninstall of everything (both rc4 and libraries) and fresh install of the latest release.
Anyway, thanx Peter and congrats for the release to all the team :tu:

PS. since this is a bug report thread: shouldn't we have a pdf copied in the same folder as the dll? I know it's probably a small omission (I'll download it from Linplug's site).
If I go insane, please don't put your wires in my brain

preview of rex loops plays in wrong tempo...

Can somebody still confirm the long loading time and high CPU thing on single core engines (namely Intel with 2GHz at least)?

Oh and I just saw the screenshots on KVR. According to FireFox, they're 950x610pix. Wouldn't that mean, that the minimum requirements of 1200x800 are a bit intense? Or is the GUI resizeable? Looking good btw - if we can change Filter, Pitch and LFO settings for each pad individually, I'm all game.

Though I'd love to rather see an "insert" rather than a "send" feature (and why only 2 sends for the pads, where can I access the third?) on the pads, but then again, we can still route the samples to individual outputs - so no prob at all. Unless the pads are replaced with the effect ridden return signal. (EDIT: Actually not, the FX section can be routed though? - interesting)

@shackman I cannot reproduce this, here choke groups seem to work fine, click and menu opens

@minimarx There was a problem in the website, its fixed meanwhile

@zeoy great, though I have no clue what could have caused this :-D

@bodan We'll check this

@copmyfox, You are right and I'm a noob, it fits 1024 x 768 really, I change our requirements description. Yes, all settings are per pad / slice. Also all pads ans slices do have three sequential insert effects. You cannot routes samples individual to outputs but pads or slices. Please stick to bug reports in this thread :-P

i can confirm bodans bug on preview at wrong tempo.

also i am not sure if this is a bug in orion (guess it is since it wasn't like this in live) but when you drag/drop the loop midi to orion it scrambles the notes and places them improperly.

are the drag/drop files always have the note data on channel 1? orion thinks this is the case and so does ableton live.

i dont know if it's possible to embed channel data into the mid, but if it is, it would make sense to make the drag/drop'd midi file that loop generates for slicing/timing to actually reside on the "SETUP" page's loop midi channel - this way it's not drag/drop and then silence and confusion.

i figured out the problem myself, but it was a headscratcher. you might want to ammend the very well written manual to include some information about how to route this stuff if you dont make the drag/drop midi fix to the proper channel.

in ableton live i worked around the problem by drag/drop the midi to a new midi track, then inserted an external instrument plug from abletons native list and routed the midi to RM-V track and RM-V channel 11 (in this case). live handled the drag/drop no problem no jumbling of notes. so that bug is probably in orion.

is rmv already embedding the drag/drop midi to the proper/correct channel? if so it could be live doing a job of messing it up.

:)

the more i work with RMV the more i like it. the UI rules. it just fits. as a UI guy i can tell ya that's a compliment and something difficult to achieve with the massive functionality in RMV. awesome job on the implementation of the UI as well - thank you for the mousewheel love.

Post

btw, i meant it sincerely about the manual, it could come off as sarcasm. but i mean it, it's a great manual :)

Post

Thanks (Chris .... did yoiu see that!) ... about the channel, I will check this and make sure its fixed if there is a problem, of course the notes should be on the right channel, everything else is a bug.

Post

Hi:

In Cubase Studio when you drag a loop it isn't inserted in the midi channel you are indicating, instead of this a new track is created ( an instrument track) where the midi data for the loop is included, you need to move manually the midi clip to correct midi track and delete the instrument track created.

Also, don't know if its a bug or not but i can't find the way to selecting multiple slices so i can assign all of them to a group without going selecting one after another.
...and almost 10 seconds to load some loops...altough my computer is a bit old (Pentium IV 2,8 Ghz)

Congrats for RMV

Most Q's answered (so routing is like the old days, only "enhanced" with Send FX). Thanks.

Leaves only this one here:

@1974st, the Cubase thingy is unfortunately a Cubase behaviour that we cant change. About the selecting multiple slices, argh, yes, thats not made it into this release, though I see the desparate need for it, its on our list.

Still open for a seperate (for like 20bucks extra?) drumsequencer. ;)

1)LOOP:

I've imported a sample (not from the library).
When the sensitivity slider is set to hard left (means one slice) the playback behaves very strange when pressing the RMV Play/Stop Button.
The slive is played back overlayed - very strange - and Stop doesn't work immediately. It seems that it works fine beginning with a higher number of slices. The Mute-Button also doesn't work with one slice!!!!!

2)LOOP:

The group function doesn't work. I've applied two slices to group 1. Altering a parameter from the first slice doesn't affect the other.

3)LOOP:

Selecting all/several slices (with strg + a/strg + click) is necessary,
for editing several slices at the sime time.

4)LOOP:

A reset-button to reset all the parameters from the signal-path (from one slice or the selected - s. pt. 3) to the default value would also be necessary.

Thanks
Harry
