Out of curiousity, what kind of demo do you wanna hear?

Dude, your demo was posted by mr Spectrum himself. If you'd posted it I would have taken at as a cool user demo. Coming through official channels my reaction was "nice, but not what I was waiting for".

What I was waiting for is a demo of how you can tweak the basic samples into something completely different, preferably functional. I get it that OS has a bunch of very interesting samples. Are they a matter of "take it or leave it"? I suspect not, but I'd like to see something of the sound scaping possibilities.

On another note, it boggles my mind how idiotic some people can be. After all that we've seen about Omnisphere, you hear the track in this thread and assume that's ALL it can do? You assume that for some bizarre reason Synth1 can in any way compete? Maybe you just haven't read any of the websites, watched videos, etc. that have been going on for eight months.

The fact that the talent behind this instrument has more experience than probably ANY other team in the entire world at sound design(all the way back to helping design classic synths and patches) should tell you that there is more to this than a couple of demos have shown. But some people just like to gripe because they have nothing better to do and refuse to actually try and get some facts before posting.

With posts like those from aleks0 and JPTinAshland just have me scratching my head. It's not about having an opinion, that's fine. Heck, more opinions get thrown around at KVR than any other message board I've seen. But to come in with blatant insults or just being a jerk doesn't exactly get anyone to care what you have to say. Why isn't it possible to just ASK instead of insulting?

FACT: Omnisphere is likely larger than any one of us knows, even those who have it already. Still, there have been many tracks both here and at Youtube put up by people making music ALREADY with this thing. It's only been out a week. Maybe give it a little time, look around at the information available, watch some videos, ask some questions, and THEN make a judgement of the product instead of being ignorant and spouting off about something you obviously have no clue of.

there's one i'm wondering after seeing the soundtake technique of the singing bowl

Though i don't have a clue about sourround soundtakes or alike,(especially in such a close situation and anyway i can't afford the equipment for it) i thought this one (an orange turning inside the bowl) could perfectly have been an interesting case ?

i'm amazed by the fantazy and the sense of innovation that has been during this part of developpment...

Let's get a couple of things clear here... $500 for a highly complex professional instrument is not a lot of money considering what is on offer or have we all forgotten how it was not too long ago. If this was the TDM world we would be paying way over a $1000. And just because some peoples taste and/or critical ability doesn't allow them to see the wood for the trees doesn't give them the right to be so rude to somebody who has done his best to help and inform us. I agree. This song caught me off guard. Downloaded both and put them in my party m3u. Quality stuff from Omnisphere there. Ok I know it ain't ment to do that, but seriously one gotta try the limits. If I hadn't got Nexus + 7-8 expansions, Wusik with alot of the member files, and Reaktor I would maybe get this one. Still this broadens the mind of the omni sky wide!

Thought I should step in and say thanks for the nice words and answer some of the questions.

I used 2 instances and some help from a third to make this track.

Since i've been involved in the creating of some of the core sounds I wanted to explore the synth part just for my own pleassure. I was blown away by what this synth can do without the samples and I can assure you all who haven't had the pleassure to play around with it yet that the full potential of this beast has yet not been explored.

The vocals I used are from Vocal Planet and I believe the chants are available in heart of africa as well.. not sure though, Eric can verify if that is the case. The vocals were not affected by Omnisphere in any case.

The sidechain effect is just a simple volume automation of the master output of one of the Omnisphere instanses made in Cubase. Think reversed sawtooth with a pretty steep dip on every downbeat. Should be doable with any desent sequenser.

Very cool track Tobias. I like it a lot. Any idea how much CPU resources were used to create it? Did you have to render separate tracks?

I'm currently budgeting for Omnisphere and I'm definitely going to buy it once there is enough money around. I am however a bit worried about CPU usage of the synth engine itself.

OK guys, since it will be a little while before we can put up the official audio demos page and in the interest of providing some more audio demos of what Omnisphere sounds like, I thought I'd turn this thread into a central repository of demos that are happening all over the place for Omnisphere. Some great stuff out there!

Diego Stocco has done some really nice short little pieces, that give an idea of what you can do with a single instance of Omnisphere.
