Developers can't tell u, because it should remain a secret.

That midi player vst is not very stable in Forte. Dunno about other hosts. You would need to be able to choose a midi driver from the vst player. eg midi yoke 1 and then recieve the midi data on midi yoke 1 from the Vst instruments within Forte.
I use Brainspawns forte as a host. It would be just nice to be able to save a scene with the midi file loaded for each scene from within forte itself, instead of using another midi player program.
As to the developers not saying if they are making one or not, but you have to plant the seed for the idea dont you.

Yep it is done. Nope I ain't developing a MIDI player plugin. Why? Sequencers and software like Winamp can allready do this. In other words: No need for it. No offence but I hardly see a good use for it.

I heard about Forte on this forum and it seems like it would cure a lot of ills for me onstage since I play guitar, sing, and control effects units during the show, usually at the same time.
We don't do enough keyboard stuff to warrant having a dedicated keyboardist, but it would be great to be able to cue up short sequences on the fly that would do horn hits, string pads, etc. Stuff that's not worth the trouble of running a separate sequencer with a click track piped out to the drummer.
Being able to save all that as a cueable scene in Forte...oh yeh.

I ran across this VST midplayer - jmidplayer. It is functional as a VST but doesn't sync with the host. Also, uncheck the loop mode box else it could crash your host.

In a modular system can be very useful to trigger prerecorded midi data. I remember years ago I was searching for a VST MIDI player but the only available is that one in the link above which crashes everything.jobromedia wrote:Yep it is done. An advanced MIDI player with multiple outs, triggerable and which syncs with the host tempo will be very useful.
EDIT: I will give my vote to it for sure
