Hi,
I just created a shell extension that allows the creation of an oversampled VST Plugin from the Explorer.
The installer will add it as shell extension, so that you can right click on any VST Plugin to create an oversampled version by selecting 'Oversample VST Plugin'. Get it here:
The links are:
7z / Installer
It is basically a stripped version of the plugin splitter.

Holy crap that's cool - thanks
Any way to create a plugin that will add fxb/p bank loading capabilities to any plugin by any chance?

Going to try this with Augur - always thought it would sound better oversampled but the Wusik Oversampler makes it higher pitched for some reason.

Question: does it seem reasonable to make a project with, say, xoxos' PM VSTis then reload them as oversampled versions... hmm. I think loading patches would be easy, but at least in FL it'd nix the automation info... I'll have to think on this a tad more and try to make an all-in-one solution to oversampled automation morphing rendering I can explain easily.

This doesn't appear to be working in Sonar right now. The plugins I try and oversample will stop passing any audio once added to a track or bus.

SynthEdit/Maker plugins doesn't work yet. It's a problem of SynthEdit/Maker and I already contacted the developers. At least they should create a better error message then simply let the plugin crash.TerryW wrote:Cubase crash when use it on a Synthedit plugin, but i expected this.

Strange bug: When oversampling RoughRider, when you touch the Ratio control, some internal parameter of your oversampler wrapper changes as well causing the input sound to be sharply lowpassed. I've checked that it's the "OS Transition WB" parameter that goes to 0%.
Cheers!

Related to the above bug: Your oversample wrapper screws up the plugins controls, giving them the wrong name and parameters. This can be easily seen if you test it in Reaper and click the UI button to force every plugin to use the standard Reaper gui instead of it's own.
For instance, these are the parameters of RoughRider:
- Ratio
- Attack
- Release
- Sense
- Makeup
- Active
Ratio should have a value of 1:1 to 1000:1 but in the oversampled version it goes from 1.0 to 10 and behaves weird (see above bug).
Attack is correct in oversampled version but release is completely screwed up, having a value of -60dB to 0dB. Somehow it looks like the values are shifted one controller up. That is, attack gets the release values, release gets the sense values, sense gets the makeup values etc.
Cheers!

Sorry to say but this oversampler wrapper is very very buggy. For instance, no graphical meters work correctly when plugins are oversampled (they work as long as I keep the mouse button down on any control) and some plugins don't work at all when the oversampling switch is in the "off" position (sonalksis plugins).
The potential of this idea is awesome but current implementation simply doesn't work.
Cheers!

Another bug. The oversampler doesn't seem to report the sample rate to the plugin which means that many plugins simply sound "broken" or behave strangely. I've tried manually oversampling plugins in Wavelab 6 with their oversample plugin and this sounds completely different to the wrapper. A good test is running the Sonalksis SV-315MK2 compressor as it's attack/release speed do not behave correctly when oversampling with the wrapper. When oversampled manually, that is, running at 352,8kHz for 8x oversampling from 44kHz it works as expected. Try 8x oversampling with the wrapper and you get vastly different results.
