No no, there is a plot in there for NastyHF! ...but it looks to me like this just shows 4 examples of differing boost AMOUNTS, not curves. Or am I being stupid here?

no, not stupid, you are right, that one shows one curve with different boosts. I've simply missed a curve plot with all the different settings (10a-b-c-d).

For a limiter by bootsie we've got the one in the new Rescue already. It's a really good one me thinks! You could see it as a limiter with some M/S add ons ...

Ok I'll check this out more! I was purely thinking of something very simple but top notch at preserving transients. Something comparable to PSP Xenon!

Since I'm not in that "loudness thing" I don't think I will ever made such a "transparent" limiter. A "nasty" one is already there in NastyVSD (or RescueAE as already mentioned) and does a perfect job on it (at least to me) in that funky combination with the input saturation.

i just used nastyvsd on the stereo bus of a bluesey rock type track, it made everything sound a bit more vintage sounding/nicely sitting together. thanks again bootsie.

by that, i mean i had 2 guitars doin the voodoo blues type thing and the vsd got them to sit together nicely, without it they were a bit uneven.
