Only thing to remember is that the magnitude will be squared :)

Yes, but as long as gain is logarythmic, it will be twice :)

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the plug-in!

I have some problems. Apparently it doesn't work properly at 88.2kHz. Filter Order (Stage1) makes bizarre things to the sound. OS Factor (Stage1) pushes the sound to distortions (Input Gain=0dB).

I run Wavelab6.

Cheers,
Vitaly.

Some users have reported problems in Wavelab6 with other plugins built based on the open source project, so I guess that's probably the reason. I don't have wavelab here to try on my own, but keeping your problem in mind I'll have a look if I found the problem by simply looking at it.

Anyone done comparisons with Stillwell Event Horizon?
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

when you say strange things, do you mean something that sounds like a buffer overload?

That's the problem I'm having here, like the plugin is having trouble locking to the host, sounds like a granulizer effect

Hi Christian,
Testing in Samplitude, with "Hard-Clip Output" enabled, output level is actually 0.01dB greater than what is set by "output level" control.
Set output to 0dB, actual output is +0.01dBFS (clipping), set output to -0.2dB, actualy output is -0.19dBFS
So perhaps if you subtract an additional 0.01dB from the output level, we'll be set.
Yes, this is minor, but I thought you'd want to know.

Also, it would be nice if a knob's parameter value was displayed when you click on the knob. Currently, you need to turn the knob for it's value to be displayed.

Otherwise... GREAT! I think these are the last finished touches. (Oh, and an about page so we know who did the wonderful programming :) )

All the best,
Dax.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for this great free plugin. For me it is one of the better clippers at the moment.

I do have a problem with Cubase 5 and Advanced clipper. It cost me some time to narrow down the problem but I hope you can solve it. It crashes cubase but you do not see it. I know it sounds strange. But let me explain what I do and what happens.

Create a new project. Added Instrument track with halion one, any patch will do. Record some notes. Insert advanced clipper in the masterbus. Play the recorded notes. Then save the project. Close the project and close Cubase. Start Cubase again, open the project. Play it and save it again.Close the project and close cubase.
At this moment cubase quits way faster then normal. Sometimes when I reopen the project and remove the advanced clipper it quits cubase. This will only happen when I have saved the project first and quit cubase, restart cubase and open the project again!!

The first time I noticed was when I want to open my previous project. The project did not appear in the recent projects list under the file menu. It only happens with the advanced clipper plugin, no other plugin was used.

I tested it with Cubase 5.01.
My system specs are:
Intel Core 2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4 GHz
WinXP SP2 with 2 GB RAM
RME Hammerfall Multiface using ASIO.

Maybe it is a combination of cubase and advanced clipper or maybe it is a problem with cubase, I do not know. Hope you can help.
I'm playing air guitar, air drums & air keys.

I see similar problems with both Cubase 4 and Cubase 5.
But then I do use a lot of open source plugins and I've sort of gotten used to it with many of my projects nowadays.

I must admit though, with very conservative settings, you can get sounds to be ridiculously loud and barely be touching the meters.
Try strapping this across a group bus with percussion on it :-)

Christian - any chance you could look into it?

Thanks
Chris
