Help with my Sampletank 2.5

so, i received the sampltank 2.5 engine with the vintage group buy and only just tried to load my own samples (well, samples that i downloaded) these are free mellotron samples from Real Music Media.
first of all, i loaded a whole folder of one sound just like it says in the manual, by checking the box next to the samples i wanted sampletank to load and auto-map. it all worked perfectly, except sampletank crashed at least half the times i did it. after i opened sampletank again i found that all the samples loaded and mapped properly, but why is it crashing on me?
also, now i am trying to save child presets of these sounds with a little high eq roll off, flat velocity, and restricted keyboard ranges, just like a real mellotron. they save correctly, but if i load a different instrument after using one of my presets, the velocity and keyboard range stays the same as what i loaded in for my child presets. so, if i load a drum instrument, they are all single velocity drums, and i only get to use half of my keyboard, like on my mellotron presets.
thanks in advance for any help.
oh yeah, iMac 10.4.11, intel core2duo, 3 gigs of ram

Thank you, Kim, for the reply, but before I do that I have been messing around with this again and figured a couple things out. Things still do not work right, though.
First, if I use a Mellotron sound I got in the vintage group buy, there is no velocity setting changing in Sampletank. (the "curve knob" does not turn to "Flat") So I assume the official sounds have other parameters involved that we do not use in our imports. That's fine.
However, and I ask for people to try this and respond. I loaded in my sounds, "Combined Choir" with velocity curve "Normal." Then I made a child preset of "Combined Choir 2" with velocity curve "Flat." Obviously, "Normal" is velocity sensitive, and "Flat" is not. Now the tricky part. I go to "CC" preset, then to "CC 2" preset. Curve changes from "Normal" to "Flat." If I go back to "CC" preset, curve stays at "Flat." Now, if I go from "CC2" (with "Flat") to a child preset, any child preset, for any sound, with a "Normal" curve, then the curve will change with it. No parent presets will change the curve setting...only child presets.
So, I will kindly bow out and ask IK, however I do ask if anyone would be kind enough to verify this behavior on their system.
Thank you again.

Same here, but you don't have to create your own presets for this to happen: change the curve to something like "Exp 2" and you'll notice parent presets leave it unchanged while child presets reset it to something like "Normal". I'm not even sure this is really a bug, even if it's a bit weird...

Thanks for the reply. That's a real bummer. It doesn't make any sense that it behaves this way. Oh well, at least I can work around it by using only child presets for what I'm trying to accomplish.
Thanks!
Thanks!
